In the New Testament portion of the Bible, in Luke Chapter 24, the Bible records a story of two people whose lives were forever changed by a personal spiritual encounter. They walked together on the road to Emmaus (a town located seven miles north of Jerusalem) while they discussed the events of Jesus' crucifixion. Jesus appears to them, though they didn't recognize Him, and shares with them the impact of Jesus' resurrection for the forgiveness of sin. As Jesus shared a meal with them, He finally reveals Himself to them and they exclaim,
"Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with

This true-to-life story became the basis for the name of a new community of Christ-followers in Laramie, Wyoming seeking to help spiritual seekers experience a life-changing encounter with Jesus.
We develop our own style of weekly worship that will honor God, reflect the vision and values of Emmaus Road, and draw our congregation into worship. We incorporate various elements into the service representing different styles, however; our praise will most often be a combination of Acoustic, Rock, Pop, and Gospel Music.
