St. John’s Cathedral is one of the few examples in the new world of classic gothic architecture, and one of the finest. Visitors come here from all parts of the world to see, worship, wonder, meditate and pray. The carvings in stone and wood and the figures in the stained glass include symbols of many faiths, making the Cathedral a “house of prayer for all people.” All are welcome here.

The Cathedral organ, designed and installed in 1961 by the Aeolian-Skinner Company of Boston, is representative of the finest period of cathedral organ design in America, consisting of five divisions with over 4,000 pipes.
Affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music, the music program at the Cathedral of St. John the evangelist consists of two vocal choirs, a handbell choir, and a tower carillon.
Our Cathedral Choir sings weekly at the 11am. Sunday Choral Eucharist. The Choir's repertoire consists of music from all periods, including Gregorian and Anglican Chant, a cappella music from around the world, and cantatas, oratorios and Masses.
The 49-bell tower carillon is played weekly before the Sunday 11 a.m. Eucharist.
The Children's Choir, conducted by Dr. Billie Marie Severtsen, sings weekly at the 9 a.m. Sunday Eucharist.
Our Handbell Choir rings for services approximately once a month and at special festive occasions. They also present concerts, either along with the Cathedral Choir, or by themselves.
