Welcome to worship at First Covenant Church! Here within our beautiful 100-year-old sanctuary, you will find vitality, intergenerational community, praise, prayer, strong musical expression and challenging preaching. The gift of our circular sanctuary is the intimacy of the worship experience. You will be drawn into community as our relationships place a high value on face-to-face interaction.

The philosophy and approach of our worship planning is that one should experience enough that is the same so that one can rest, but enough that is different so that one is required to fully engage (mind, body and soul) a relationship with God. While stylistically we embrace the ancient practices of the church and following the liturgical year (the dark waiting of Advent, light in the arrival of Jesus, the depth of Christ’s passion, celebration in resurrection, and the gift of God’s Spirit) our worship gives expression to the multiplicity of people’s spiritual yearnings including praise music, instrumental sounds, Taize, gospel rhythms, youth and adult choral music and String Band. There is enough for all within these doors.

Our Music

Preschool Choir - The focus in this group is on learning to use our voices to sing God’s praise in scripture songs and choruses. The Preschool Choir sings in worship occasionally throughout the year.

Kids Choir - The kids choir sings in worship on the first Sunday of each month during the school year, as well as for special services. In the spring, our focus is on preparing and presenting a musical for Children’s Sunday in June.

Adult Choir - Adult Choir sings weekly in worship throughout the school year, except for the 3rd Sunday of each month. The purpose of this group is to work together to prepare a wide variety of music to lead in worship.

Bell Choir - The bell choir plays seasonally throughout the year.

String Band - The string band is a group of folks who like to step out of the traditional church music style and try some new tunes. We currently have violins, viola, guitars, stand up bass, piano, accordion and voices. The string band leads worship on the 3rd Sunday of the month.
