Organist/Choirmaster - James Cassarino

A native of Vermont, James P. Cassarino has served as Music Director at Trinity Church since October 2004. He holds degrees in Organ/Harpsichord Performance, Musicology (Sacred Music Emphasis), and Liturgical Studies from Castleton State College, Ball State University and St. John's University School of Theology/Seminary.

In addition, he is currently a postgraduate research student in Welsh Sacred Music at the University of Wales, Bangor where he makes multiple research trips each year. In addition to his duties at Trinity Church he is a member of the faculty at Green Mountain College where he holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Music Programs.

He resides in Rutland with his wife Elise and children, Hannah and Peter.

The Choir

The Senior Choir meets each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

The Choir has long been an integral part of the worship life at Trinity and maintains an active and rigorous schedule. The 30-member choir boasts a large repertoire, preparing one or two anthems each week and sings Anglican Chant. In addition to Sunday morning services the choir offers music for:

- Advent Lessons & Carols
- Palm Sunday Musical Offering
- Ascension Day Evensong
- Vespers and Compline

In addition to the Senior Choir, Trinity has a Children’s Choir that offers special music for Christmas and Easter. As the music program continues to grow so too will the Children’s Choir

The Choirs are open to all parishioners who feel a call to music ministry. Auditions are not required, however, it is expected that singers be able to match pitch and attend weekly rehearsals. The Senior Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 during the academic year.
