Our Traditional Worship Service
This worship features music with organ, choir, and hymns. The service flows from Call to Worship, Prayer of Praise, Prayer of Confession, Assurance of Forgiveness to Responsive Bible Reading, Children's Message, Offeratory, Pastoral Prayer, Scripture and Sermon, and Benediction. Hymns, Anthems, and music for congregation, choir, and soloists accompany the service throughout.

Our Contemporary Worship Service
Contemporary Worship features music with the praise band "Rising Sound" and contemporary Christian songs. Worship elements include praise songs, prayers and affirmations of faith, Bible readings, children's message, prayer requests and prayer together, sermon and blessing.

One of the most vital ministries at First Presbyterian is our music program. We utilize music as one of many contact points with God, such as when we sing praises to God during Worship and when we sing about what God has done for us for the benefit of others.

Rising Sound Band
This group of seven musicians provides the musical accompaniment for the 9:30 am contemporary service each Sunday.

Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir provides musical leadership at the 11:00 am Traditional Worship Service on Sundays from September to May. In addition to anthems each week, the choir performs service music and special music as needed in addition to leading congregational singing. Special services that feature the choir include Kirkin’ o’ th’ Tartan, Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday. The choir also presents an annual Lessons and Carols Service near Christmas, a Spring Concert in May, and participates in ecumenical events with other church choirs in Salt Lake throughout the year. Special guest musicians, including members of the Utah Symphony, are engaged at times to enhance the work of the Chancel Choir and to provide special musical offerings.
