St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in the heart of San Antonio, is a metropolitan Christian community proclaiming God's word to all through traditional worship, education and service.

We are a metropolitan community of people baptized in Christ. Through our celebration of the sacraments and study of the word we are shaped by grace into the servant God calls us to be. We worship, work and play together to grow as individuals, as families, and as a congregation in our living savior, Jesus Christ.

St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church embodies the rich musical heritage of the Lutheran Church. While upholding traditional musical styles and worship practices, the church also encourages innovative styles for the worship of our Lord. The music ministry includes a Parish Choir, Bell Choir, Brass Choir, vocal ensembles, vocal soloists and various instrumentalists.

St. John's Church is fortunate to have three pipe organs and a concert Steinway piano. The 1986 Moeller Organ (III, 52 ranks) is located in the rear gallery of the church. A 1932 Moeller Organ is located in the front of the church. A one manual (keyboard) Hofmann Organ is located in the chapel.

We invite you to worship each Sunday at 8:00 AM and 10:45 AM and for Christian education at 9:30 AM. Music, provided by the organist, Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, and instrumentalists, is an integral part of our weekly service of Word and Sacrament, celebrated within the setting of the great liturgy of the Church.
