We are a worshipping community. Through life-changing preaching and inspirational music, we express our love for God and encourage one another to take his message of hope and grace into our world. First Presbyterian Church offers both traditional and contemporary worship services.

          Traditional Worship
Led by our pastors and minister of music, the worship service flows between music, prayer, scripture and proclamation, as we enter together into God’s presence. The music is led by the organ and choir, and includes both lively congregational singing as well as special music designed to touch our hearts in a way only music can.

                Contemporary Worship
Although its foundation and theology are identical to our traditional service, our contemporary service looks and sounds a lot different.

The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. Led by a pastor and a lay member of the church, each service moves from song, to prayer, to a message from Scripture that connects with people’s lives in a straightforward way. A variety of acoustic and electric instruments provide musical accompaniment for congregational singing so lively, you may find it difficult to resist the urge to clap along to the beat.

First Presbyterian Church’s Music Ministry exists to glorify God, sing his praises and invites others to do the same. Congregational singing is at the heart of our Music Ministry and compels us to reflect on the great truths of Scripture and particularly God’s love for us through his Son.

          Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir sings in three worship services each Sunday and presents concerts of oratorios and cantatas at various times of the year. Its membership consists of singers with many occupations, each of whom enjoys singing and leading others in doing the same. The many different styles and genres of sacred choral music ensures the singers a variety of music from week to week.
