(Proverbs 29:18) These words from the Bible challenge First Baptist Church in Knoxville to have a focus on the future and an understanding of God's vision and direction for our church. Without this vision we will wander aimlessly and finally perish. With this vision, we will bear fruit for the Kingdom of God.

Music Ministry

Music is a gift from the Lord. He gave us this gift. Humans are created in the image of God, and therefore, He made us creative. It is only fitting that we craft the best music that we can to give praise to God in worship, as well as to tell His story.

Our Music Organizations:

Sanctuary Choir - The Sanctuary Choir is the flagship of our music ministry here. The choir provides worship leadership for the 11:00 a.m. service each Sunday. We sing a variety of literature in many styles. The choir presents at least two major programs a year.

FBC Praise Band - The Praise Band leads the musical portion of our worship in the 8:45 a.m. service on Sunday mornings. The primary style of music sung and played by this group is largely contemporary.

Chapel Choir - Our youth choir for grades 6 – 12.

Sanctuary Handbells - Our church is blessed to have a 5-octave set of Schulmerick Handbells. The handbell choir regularly rings as a part of our morning worship services, as well as for other special services, as needed.

Ladies Ensemble - Sings songs that usually reflect the theme of the day in worship.

Golden Notes Choir - Our senior adults choir has taken a real launch into ministry, in that they regularly visit area nursing homes and assisted living centers to offer programs of music and inspiration. Their choir is a real blessing to all who have a chance to hear them.

GRADED CHOIRS - Singing Cherubs, Preschool 4’s and Kindergarten 5’s Choir, Music Makers (grades 1-2), Young Musicians (grades 3-5).

God told us through the Scriptures to “Speak to one another with Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:19-20 NIV) It is our goal to put that Scripture into practice through a variety of music organizations, as well as styles of music.
