Our Mission: “Our goal at First Presbyterian Church is to impact our community by proclaiming Jesus Christ through dynamic ministry and vital worship; thus developing disciples who will address the needs of our members, community, nation, and world. We affirm the Trinity. God our Creator reigns supreme."
Located at the corner of Kansas City Street and 7th Street, First Presbyterian Church was constructed in 1952 of stone. In 1958, an educational wing was added. While the sanctuary seats 470, our chapel seats 70 for smaller services. The sanctuary has been recently updated (2005) with a state of the art sound and projection system. This includes the following new equipment: sound board and speakers, light board and theatrical style lighting, two large screens and projectors for use during services, two cameras and the equipment necessary to provide live audio and visual feeds in the sanctuary.

Our Chancel Choir
To borrow an idea form Dr. Anton Armstrong, conductor of the fames St. Olaf Choir, the Chancel Choir serves as the “small choir” in providing leadership for the "large choir" or congregation at the traditional worship services here at First Presbyterian Church.
This dedicated group of 18 singers provides that leadership at the 8:3- worship services, and at selected special service as such as Maundy Thursday, from September through May. The choir also participates in scheduled blended services throughout the year. The Chancel Choir sings a wide range of musical literature, ranging from great classics of the church music repertoire, to new pieces just composed in the past year.
For musical enrichment for the congregation we have a pipe organ and grand piano in the sanctuary and several other pianos in places of need around the church (Social Room, Chapel, Choir Room, and Children’s Music Area) The bell choir uses 5.5 octaves of Schulmerich hand bells and 6 octaves of Malmark hand chimes.
