Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church offers a multi-faceted music program, with opportunities for persons of all ages, interests and abilities. Five singing and two handbell choirs regularly contribute to the worship, service, and nurture ministries of the church.

Chancel Choir - adult choir
An excellent Music Ministry will have an excellent adult choir as its core. The adult Chancel Choir performs the best choral music from a variety of styles and traditions, as well as larger choral works with instrumentalists.

Second Sunday Band
This ensemble is designed to lead the worship of God, mainly through contemporary praise and worship music. The focus in on expressing God's love through music, while leading a service which is an alternative to Sunday morning services.


Advent Orchestra
The advent Orchestra plays for the Hanging of the Greens service the week before Advent starts.

Agape Choir - ages sixth through twelfth grades
The Agape Choir serves God through worship, mission, and outreach.

Joyful Voices - ages first and second grade
Sing periodically in worship.

Covenant Choir - third, fourth, and fifth grades
Regular, once a month involvement in worship.

Kinderpraise Choir - ages four and five
Occasionally these young church musicians are introduced to church pageantry as at the Joy Offering programs.

Memorial Bells - adults

Music At Oakland
Music at Oakland is a community outreach of three concerts each year. The series includes church, local, regional, and national performers from various idioms.
