First Baptist Church is a Family of Faith passionately committed to following Jesus.

Music has been called the universal language. No other medium transcends countries and cultures as music does. We are taught in scripture to "sing and make music in our heart." At First Baptist, that is what we strive to do. From two years old up through the Senior Adult JOY Choir, music and ministry are taught hand in hand. It is our desire that the people learn to worship God in spirit and truth so that in turn, they can lead others in worship.

OUR MUSIC MINISTRY
Worship Choir
Ages: College-Adult
This choir of over 100 voices provides evangelistic, uplifting and celebrative music for the 9:15 a.m. worship service each Sunday. Emphasis is given to choral precision and musical integrity, but the spiritual side of singing and leading worship is also essential to this choir. Each year the choir and orchestra present a fully staged musical drama during the Christmas season. With the use of special sets, props, and costumes, the birth of Christ and its meaning to us is presented.

"CELEBRATION OF FREEDOM"
Our entire church comes together annually near July 4 for this patriotic service which features inspiring music, drama and a stirring message from our pastor.

Praise Band and Singers
Ages: College - Young Adult
A voice praise team leads the music in our contemporary service each Sunday at 10:30 AM and is accompanied by the praise band.

Adult Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir plays in our Sunday services throughout the year and is featured at Christmas. The five octave bell set has just undergone a major refurbishment.

Ensembles
Ages: College - Adult
Various ensembles provide special music for our services throughout the year.

J.O.Y. Choir
Ages: 55 and older
Present musical programs at Christmas and in the spring and have been the featured choir at the South Carolina Senior Adult Convention.

Preschool Choirs
Ages: 2-3 Choir
Ages: 4-5 Year of Choir
Ages: Grades 1-5 Choir

Middle & High School JoyFul Noize
Ages: Grades 6-12
The goal of this group is to use their voices and instruments to make a JoyFul Noize to the Lord.

First Baptist Church Orchestra
Ages: High School - Adult
In the 9:15 service, an orchestra is used to accompany the choir and congregational music. They also accompany the choir for any musicals presented throughout the year. This group provides special music periodically in the 9:15 service. Smaller ensembles are also chosen from these players for special selections during the year.

Contemporary Praise Band
Ages: College age and up
The 10:30 service uses a praise band composed of drums, guitars, keyboards and occasional brass and woodwinds.
