Our Mission
"We worship God as revealed in Jesus Christ, and through the power of the Holy Spirit seek to be witnesses to God's redemptive love for the world."
First formed in 1812 in downtown Pittsburgh, the congregation moved into this church building in 1912. As a "house of prayer for all people" we are racially and culturally diverse and welcome all seeking to understand their faith or inquiring about Christianity. The First Baptist Church of Pittsburgh is located at the northeast corner of the University of Pittsburgh campus in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, just a few blocks from Carnegie Mellon University and close to both Carlow and Chatham Colleges.
