When you worship in an Episcopal Church, it may seem as if you are
dropping in on a conversation already in progress, a conversation
between God and human beings which began long before you were born, and
will go on long after you are dead. So do not be surprised or disturbed
if there are some things in the conversation that you do not at once
understand.
For over 250 years, people from all walks of life have worshiped at
Saint James. Although a sense of history pervades the beautiful old
sanctuary and the peaceful churchyard, the present-day activity level is
high, and the parish enthusiastically opens its doors to all who seek
God's love.

The Saint Cecilia Concert Society is composed of parishioners who support the Saint Cecilia Concert Series through monetary donations and volunteer activities. Typically 8-10 concerts are held each year, ranging from English cathedral choirs to chamber music to Gospel groups. The series is free and open to the public, and a free will offering is taken to help defray the costs of the series.
The excellent acoustics of Saint James’ sanctuary make it a sought after venue for local groups such as high school, college, and other volunteer choruses. Such performances/musical offerings are scheduled as the church calendar permits.
Audio of our sermons is available on our web site along with our calendar of events and choral repertoire for the year.
