Edmond's First Baptist Church

WELCOME!
Our purpose is to love God and others through Jesus Christ. We are so glad you've taken this first step in learning about our church and invite you to come and visit with us in person.

Music Ministry

The Music Ministry of Edmond’s First Baptist Church offers worship opportunities for all people. The greatest desire of the music ministry is to help others worship more fully through music and to enhance their worship experience each time we’re together as a family.

Every choir at Edmond’s First Baptist Church is made up of volunteers. You will find that there are choirs available for every age group at Edmond’s First Baptist Church from children through maturing adults.

Victory Choir & Orchestra

The Victory Choir & Orchestra participates in worship on Sunday mornings. If you love to sing or play an instrument, we encourage you to join us! Whatever instrument you play, we can use you. Both choir and orchestra are open to anyone high school age and above. If you love to sing or play an instrument and praise God with friends, you are invited to come and experience worship in rehearsals and in performances.
Where do I go?

The Victory Choir rehearses in the Choir Room at 7:00 PM every Wednesday after Worship on Wednesday (WOW).

Special Events

The Victory Choir and Orchestra participate with other musical ensembles and soloists to present special holiday productions every year for Christmas, Easter and Independence Day.

Hand Bells

The Hand Bell choir (The Belles of Praise) is part of the Music Ministry of Edmond's First Baptist Church. The bells ring at worship services, meetings, weddings, etc. They are like no other instrument – each bell is part of a keyboard. Our desire is that the Hand Bell Choir will be used as His instruments to bring glory to our Lord. For more information, contact Vera Thomas at 405-341-0253.

The Joy Singers - Senior Adult Choir

The Joy Singers are a group of maturing adults who enjoy the fun, fellowship and ministry of making a joyful noise to offer as praise to the Lord. The Joy Singers enjoy their time together as they sing. They also bring joy to those in the community by singing at various retirement centers throughout the year.
Age Group

The Joy Singers are open to anyone age 55 and better who enjoys singing, getting together with friends, and sharing joy with others.
Where do I go?

The Joy Singers meet at Choir Room behind the Auditorium.
Special Events

Once a month the Joy Singers visit area retirement villages to sing for and with the residents.

Children's Choir

Children’s Choir’s meet on Wednesday evenings as part of Club 252 from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM in the Children’s Wing. Children’s choirs are grouped according to age and/or grade and are formed for groups that are age 3 to fifth grade. Approximately twice a year each age group will lead a chosen song or songs during worship. These times are precious both to the children and their families. We encourage families to recognize them as such and to be in attendance when they perform.
Where do I go?

Children’s choirs meet in the Children’s Wing of the church. Choirs are grouped according to age and/or grade with each group meeting in different classrooms of the Children’s Wing.
Schedule

Children’s choirs offer opportunities for children 3 years through 5th grade. If you like fun, worship, and fellowship, choir is for you. Each spring a major children’s musical is planned and performed, usually happening in May of the year.

Volunteer Opportunities

Anyone interested in leading children in worship through music can volunteer to lead a choir. All volunteers who work with children must complete an application that includes permission to do a complete background check.

Young Musicians Camp

You don’t need to be a musical prodigy or even play an instrument to have a great time at Young Musicians Camp. We will be singing fun music, learning about worship and enjoying spending time together.

Young Musician’s Camp at Falls Creek is the largest children’s music camp in the world, averaging almost 1,000 children from the churches in Capital Baptist Association. Each August, the children learn a new musical at camp, then return to present it at a Metro location on the final night.
Who can attend Young Musicians Camp?

Children who have completed the 3rd through 6th grades.
What will we do at camp?

The daily program for Young Musicians Camp includes Music Rehearsals, Music Calisthenics, Recreation, Bible Study, Evening Worship and Cabin Devotions.
