Refuge Missionary Baptist Church is a stable and growing congregation, with an 82 year operating history. The church has been a focal point for Christian development, charitable giving, and missionary outreach for families in East Columbus since its existence. Refuge was founded by the late and beloved Rev. Dr. Robert Franklin Hairston Sr. after a series of very successful evangelistic missions in the early 1900(s). Refuge Missionary Baptist Church was duly recognized as a Baptist fellowship in April of 1919 by national and local religious authorities.
