We are a Christian community that affirms its relationship to the PC(USA) family community by connecting committed people who are serving Christ.

Our reformed roots go back through the western branch of Christianity, the Roman church, to the early Christian church that was drawn together as followers of Jesus Christ. We also find our roots in the Jewish faith, as the Hebrew people were chosen by God to be the ones through whom he would send a Savior to redeem the world.

Sunday Worship: a blend of traditional and contemporary worship styles starts at 9:30 a.m.; nursery childcare is provided.

Music is integral to our worship services. We sing a variety of hymns; we have a glorious organ and a splendid choir; we have many church members who share their musical talents. Often, entire services are devoted to music. It comes from our children, our youth, our adults, and our community.

Chancel Choir
mixed adult choir that provides weekly leadership in worship services. Twice each year, the choir prepares an extended choral offering, usually with organ and orchestra collaboration.

Handbell Choir
Ringers of varying abilities and ages participate.

Children's Choir
One of the primary goals of this group is to introduce both contemporary and traditional repertoire for worship; pieces that are newly-composed, as well as those from the masters.

Our Organ

The worship service and choral participation are incredibly enriched through our work with our organist.

Every aspect of our Stephen Russell organ, from its general layout to the voicing of each individual pipe (all 5,000 of them) was accomplished with the unique features of our sanctuary in mind. The outcome is truly a gift for the ages, something that First Presbyterian Church can share with Ithaca and the surrounding area for decades to come.
