For 130 years, our pursuit for spiritual growth is ongoing and contemporary. Our Church congregation dates back to 1876, the building being a former music hall/opera house. (That's why we like concerts and music, to keep that tradition going). Our tower was added in 1883 through a gift of Mrs. Sarah Remsen.

10:00 am
The Time before the Worship Hour
At 10:00 am music begins. We gather to sing, to praise, to and enjoy the presence of our brothers and sisters beginning to enter the sanctuary for the worship of Almighty God. The music begins with guitars and sometimes banjo.

At 10:15 - We have some Sunday School songs and story.

At 10:25 - Our organist prepares our hearts further with a prelude.

10:30 am
We have blended worship at Wright Memorial. This means we blend together various kinds of worship styles, not too formal, not too informal. We use some of the great hymns and anthems of the Christian Church. We use some of the old gospel songs and some of the new praise songs. We use some Presbyterian hymns as well as some hymns of other traditions. We use some spirituals and some hymns of the African American tradition. And, you know, we use some blue grass and country western music also. The powerful anthem that the Choir used recently would surprise you what tradition that came from.

  

So many of our members of the congregation have been raving about our church's choir. A balance of both contemporary and traditional music. Stop by and listen for yourself.  We would love to see you this Sunday!
