Church of the Good Shepherd - Nashua, New Hampshire

"We proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ. We seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves. We strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being, and we continue in the apostle's teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of the bread, and in the prayers."

What to Expect When You Visit & Worship in the Episcopal Church
Sunday is traditionally when Episcopalians gather for worship. The principal weekly worship service is the Holy Eucharist, also known as: the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion, or Mass. In most Episcopal churches, worship is accompanied by the singing of hymns, and in some churches, much of the service is sung.

Episcopalians worship in many different styles, ranging from very formal, ancient, and multi-sensory rites with lots of singing, music, fancy clothes (called vestments), and incense, to informal services with contemporary music. Yet all worship in the Episcopal Church is based in the Book of Common Prayer, which gives worship a familiar feel, no matter where you go.

CGS Music Ministries

The Music Department is delighted to offer music opportunities for everyone-from children to adults, singers, instrumentalists, soloists and choristers, all are welcome in the music life of this vital parish.
Accompanied by one of New Hampshire's largest and finest pipe organs, music at Good Shepherd is also likely to be accompanied by other instruments, ancient and modern. All traditions are celebrated from the very best of our Anglican heritage, to new music, including music from other cultures.

Music for Young People
The Children's Choir is a graded program for girls and boys. All children in grades two and up learn the basics of music, from actual music reading to making a beautiful choral sound. They fully participate in church services at least one time per month. Singing mainly in English, this spirited choir sings psalms, hymns and anthems alone, and with the other choirs in residence in the Parish.

The Bellringers® provide important musical outreach to our community and leadership within our parish through concerts and special performances. Auditioned youth from sixth grade through high school make up this handbell choir. The ensemble plays music written specifically for the bells, as well as transcriptions of major orchestral works to the delight of hearers in Nashua, and throughout the northeast.

Music for Adults

The Senior Choir is the oldest choir in residence at the Church of the Good Shepherd and is made up of men and women from the Parish and from the community. The Choir sings regularly at the 9.45 service as well as upon Holy Days, and other occasions throughout the year.

The Men's Choir is the newest musical group at CGS and has achieved instant popularity. They sing on Sunday mornings usually only once per month.

The Good Shepherd Musicians are individuals, both youth and adults who play an instrument or offer some other music-related gift either seasonally, or upon a one-time basis. Many times throughout the year, these people may be called upon to prepare and offer special music at our services.

Our church offers a beacon of hope in a world plagued by terrorism and war, by hunger, disease and inhumanity. Join us and grow in the faith and fellowship of Jesus Christ.
