The Cathedral of Saint Paul is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese and a parish community of faith rooted in the Roman Catholic tradition. Our mission is to know, love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ. The center of our life is the Sunday Liturgy, where we come to know Christ in one another, in Sacred Scripture and in Sacrament. We educate in the faith, minister to those in need, extend hospitality to all and contribute to the cultural and spiritual life of the city.
It is one of the largest and most historic churches in the United States. Its architectural grandeur and prominent site make it an integral part of the landscape of the capital city of Minnesota.

The Cathedral of St. Paul Music Ministry focuses on the celebration of the Liturgy. The primary mission of the Music Ministry is to facilitate and enhance the singing of the Liturgy. The entire assembly sings with one voice, assisted by choirs, cantors, organists and other instrumentalists.
The Cathedral also hosts an active concert series. The Cathedral Music Series features organ, choral and instrumental programs.

The Cathedral Choir is the principal liturgical choir at the Cathedral of St. Paul. An ensemble of 35 to 40 professional and volunteer musicians. The Cathedral Choir sings music ranging from Gregorian chant to Renaissance polyphony to music of contemporary composers.
The Saint Cecilia Choir is the Cathedral's choral program for young singers (3rd grade and older), along with a choir for teenage girls, and a Cathedral Brass Choir.
