Since 1895, the spire of St. Clement's Church has overlooked the corner of Milton and Portland Avenues near downtown St. Paul. Set within a leafy, early 20th-century district of homes, schools and businesses, this Cass Gilbert-designed church has served many generations as an inspiring place to gather, learn and worship in the Episcopal tradition. While first-time visitors are often struck by the beautiful architecture and gardens, return visitors soon come to sense what really defines our parish -- the strong and vibrant community of faith and service that exists at St. Clement's. We share an appreciation of fine sacred music and the arts.

The way we worship makes a difference. As an Episcopal Church in the worldwide Anglican Communion, the Liturgy at St. Clement's is traditional yet modern; elegant but vital; inclusive yet focused. Each Sunday as we gather to celebrate the Eucharist, we use Rite II and we sing hymns and service music that help amplify the meaning of Sacred Scripture. Our spirituality is deepened by following the church calendar. Our choirs help perfect our praise. By worshiping in accordance with these treasured books, we are beneficiaries of twenty centuries of prayer and song.

Our Music Ministry
The St. Clement's Choir, the principal choir of the parish, is a mixed chorus (SATB) of 26 voices. The Choir's repertoire includes everything from plainchant to the most modern classical music, with special emphasis on music from the Anglican choral tradition.



The choir sings for the Sunday Choral Eucharist at 10:30 a.m. from the Sunday after Labor Day through the Day of Pentecost, and at the 9:30 a.m. Choral Eucharist from the first Sunday after Pentecost until the last Sunday in July. The Choir also sings for Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday and Holy Week evening services, and for Choral Evensong about four times a year.

Youth Choir, youth in grades 6-12, sing periodically in our services.

The Children's Choirs at St. Clement's provide an opportunity for young members of the parish to develop vocal and musical skills, learn about liturgy, and participate in worship. There are two choirs for children: KinderChoir for children ages 3 through 1st grade, and Choristers for children in grades 2-6.

The Handbell Choir is an intergenerational ensemble open to Youth grades 7-12 and adults. The Bell Choir participates in worship throughout the year.
