Welcome to Edgewood, an open, inclusive church in East Lansing, Michigan.

Worship at Edgewood is a blend of traditional and contemporary. Most weeks the order of worship contains prayers, hymns-both old and new, children’s time, choir music, a sermon, an offering and time for reflection. The adult choir sings most weeks during the school year and sings a variety of music from Bach to gospel. Our handbell and children and youth choirs are in worship on an occasional basis.

Music at Edgewood

Edgewood’s music program offers opportunities for all ages and abilities to learn and grow and enjoy making a joyful noise together. Edgewood’s program has a strong classical base with a lot of variety in the kinds of music that are a part of our worship service.

Singing Choirs
Adult Choir: This choir sings during most Sunday worship services. The selections range from classical arrangements to spirituals to more modern pieces.

Youth Ensemble: Grades 6-12 that sing a variety of traditional, modern and world music.

Children’s Choir: Occasionally sing in worship, often performs a Christmas musical during the early family oriented Christmas Eve service.

Special Music
Several times during the year Edgewood has special musical Sundays. Instrumental Sundays invite all members to bring any instrument and play along with the hymns. Once a year we celebrate worship through Jazz Sunday. Our adult choir offers a special cantata or other long piece of music in the spring. Throughout the summer our choirs take a break and members of the congregation offer their particular musical gifts from jazz to soloists to guitars and more.
