HOW DO WE WORSHIP?

THROUGH THE BASICS
We worship through Bible reading, preaching of the word, spoken and unspoken prayer, and music.

MUSIC IS COMMANDED IN SCRIPTURE!

Sing for joy to God our strength; shout joyfully to the God of Jacob.
Raise a song, strike the timbrel, the sweet sounding lyre with the harp. Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day. For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob. -Psalm 81:1-4

Music is an important part in the life of Towson Presbyterian Church. Our Adult Choir provides musical leadership for our weekly worship as well as for seasonal services and cantatas. In addition, the choir annually presents a Madrigal Feast and participates in a day retreat.

Our Third Sunday Choir sings the third Sunday of each month September through June.

Our Chancel Handbell Choir is our 5-octave handbell ensemble that participates monthly in worship.

The Towsontowne Handbell Choir and the Towsontowne Teen Choir are ecumenical youth ministries of Towson Presbyterian Church (USA). They are ministries of nurture and growth directed toward the youth who participate in the choirs, as well as ministries of nurture and outreach directed toward the people who come in contact with the choirs.

Our Children's Choir (2nd - 5th grade) offers choristers an opportunity to further their music and leadership skills in vocal music, and also includes time for learning the art of handbell ringing. The choir sings or rings in worship approximately once a month, including the times of Christmas and Easter.

Our Cherub Choir (PreK - 1st grade) introduces foundational musical concepts through the use of folk songs and games. The choir participates in worship at various intervals during the year, including the times of Christmas and Easter.
