St. Peter's offers a variety of worship styles within and according to the guidelines of The Episcopal Church.

SUNDAY
7:45 a.m. The Holy Eucharist Rite I -- The 7:45 a.m. service provides a quiet, contemplative environment following the Rite I Liturgy with its ancient prayers and beautiful language.

9:15 a.m. The Holy Eucharist Rite II -- This service utilizes the contemporary form of the Eucharistic Liturgy. The celebration is accompanied by the music of Peter’s Voice or the Senior or Junior Choirs, followed by a coffee hour with adult and children’s educational programs from September through May. Childcare is provided in the nursery.

11:15 a.m.The Holy Eucharist Rites I or II -- The 11:15 a.m. is a High Mass featuring a full choir, hymns, anthems, and sung prayers, providing a full, reverent, and solemn expression of worship that rivals that of any high church cathedral. The service alternates back and forth between the traditional language of Rite I and the contemporary language of Rite II.

Morning Prayer Rite I -- On fifth Sundays of the month we replace our usual 11:15 am Mass with a service of Morning Prayer. The service is filled with beautiful prayers and canticles. Morning Prayer is patterned after the ancient practice of monastic communities who pass the hours of the day in prayer. It is a service with high aesthetic appeal that often stirs great emotion.

Good music imparts inspiration and grace to the mind and spirit and gives glory to our Lord and Savior. And we at St. Peter's are truly blessed to have just that kind of magnificent music.

ADULT CHOIR
The members of the Adult choir are dedicated parishioners who willingly share their talent. They sing at the 9:15 a.m. Family Eucharist usually on the second Sunday of each month, and at the 11:15 a.m. Holy Eucharist each Sunday. Some of them have been members of the choir from forty to fifty years!



In the recent past, the choir has traveled to Smyrna, Delaware and Stevensville, Maryland, to participate in installation and ordination services. They have also performed in concert with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Concert Choir, both at St. Peter's and at the University.

JUNIOR CHOIR
The ages of the Junior Choir members range from four to twelve years of age. The Junior Choir sings every fourth Sunday at the 9:15 a.m. Family Eucharist. They have also performed with the Adult Choir, Peter's Voice, and the UMES Concert Choir at our Annual Fall Music Festival. Last year, the Junior Choir sang for the residents of Pine Bluff Village in Salisbury.

HAND BELL CHOIR
The Handbell Choir consists of members of all ages who really enjoy being together and "making a joyful noise!"

PETER'S VOICE
Peter's Voice has brought a new sound to the traditional worship of the Episcopal Church. Its blend of folk/Christian music, much of which is original material written by lead guitarist Rick Fahey, has added a contemporary element to worship for the 9:15 a.m. Family Service.
