Music is an energizing ministry at Asbury with fifteen musical ensembles, nine directors, and approximately 180 participants. It proclaims the Gospel, supports worship, adorns the liturgy and educates, spiritually and culturally. We work diligently each week to offer our best in the service of worship to encourage all of us on our spiritual journey. We have differing musical and spiritual abilities, but support and enrich each other in our prayer and spiritual lives through music.

Even though participants in Asbury’s Music Ministries represent a wide range of experience and ability from children having their first organized musical training to professional musicians; our sole purpose is to support us all on our spiritual journey.

ADULTS
The Asbury Chancel Choir has a long and exciting history. We are fortunate to be able to sing in a sanctuary with 4 to 5 seconds reverb, a fine Casavant Organ of 80 ranks, a Steinway Concert Grand Piano with a strong, committed membership of musicians who believe in the power and love of God through their music. They have for decades brought inspirational music to the worship life of this parish.



One Voice is a select ensemble who perform many different styles of music both for worship and social events.

The Praise Band's style is casual, upbeat, and intimately spiritual.

Asbury offers two opportunities for adults desiring to fellowship and minister through the ringing of bells and chimes.

Chiming Belles ring approximately twice a month.

Jubilate Bells participates in all worship services, ringing approximately twice a month.

We would do well to reflect on the significance of a moment that continues a remarkable influence on our corporate worship to this day as it will for many generations to follow. The installation of one of the most prominent instruments on the Eastern Shore, The Asbury Casavant Organ, Opus 2720; installed in 1962, standing three stories tall, 75 ranks, 3,190 pipes,valued in the year 2002 at almost one million dollars.

The installation of this instrument was and continues to be something akin to a person getting a heart transplant. After all, the organ provides the heart­beat of our worship experience. It renews vitality, pumping energy into the gathered Body of Christ as a result of its power. Under the skilled hands of Asbury musicians, the organ consecrates time and space, beckoning us from the business of life to focus on the task of faith.
