In addition to church school, Otterbein United Methodist Church offers three services of worship. Whereas the 8:15 and 11:00 am services present a more traditional style, the 9:45 service allows one to worship in a more informal setting.

While the two services are very similar they are different in that each service has different singing choirs leading the service as well as hand bell, children and youth choirs from time to time. While the clergy and choirs wear robes for the services you will find that the congregation dresses in a wide range of styles from the "traditional" coat/tie and dress/heels to sports shirts/slacks/jeans and culottes/tops/jeans—even shorts and sandals in the summer.

The Informal Service follows the same "four-fold pattern" or flow as the Traditional services though it is much more subtle and discreet. The principle acts of worship are almost entirely done through the use of contemporary songs with very little congregational participation other than the songs. The sermon is basically the same as the Traditional Services though the pastor does make some modifications due to time constraints (the service is only 45 minutes long) and the difference in the character of the congregation. There is no choir. Music is provided by a Praise Choir who leads the congregation as they read the words projected over-head.

Chancel Choir
A singing choir for adults that sings weekly at the 11:00 a.m.

Praise Choir
Made up of adults and youth who are vocalist and/or instrumentalist. This group leads the musical part of the 9:45 a.m. Informal Service .

Sanctuary Choir
A singing choir for adults that sing weekly at the 8:15 a.m.

New Spirit Singers
A singing group for youth in grades 6 through 12. This group sings monthly at the 11:00 a.m.

Cherub Choir
A singing choir for children aged 3 through the 1st grade that sings monthly at the 11:00 a.m.



Carol Choir
This is a singing choir for children in grades 2 through 5. They sing once a month at the 11:00 a.m.

Belltones
This handbell group is for children in grades 6 through 12. This groups plays once a month at the 11:00 a.m.

Cathedral Ringers
An adult handbell group for advanced ringers and play frequently at the 8:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Chime Choir
A group for children in grades 2 through 5 who ring choir chimes and handbells and ring monthly at the 11:00 a.m.

Hallelujah Handbells
This is a choir of adult handbell ringers that rings frequently at the 8:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
