Our 8:30 a.m. worship service takes place in the Fellowship Hall in Calvary’s Recreation Outreach Center. It is a contemporary service where dress is casual, music is contemporary, and coffee, juice and doughnuts are served before and after the service. Our traditional service takes place at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. The sanctuary choir leads in worship with traditional hymns and the service is more liturgical. Our pastor, Dr. Robert Baker, offers the same wonderful message at both services.
At Calvary we recognize the important role music plays in the life of our community of faith. As we build upon the firm foundation of Christ and a rich history of quality church music, we are blessed to have a diverse group of talented musicians who serve faithfully in the music ministry. It is through song that many Christians, young and old, internalize the basic tenants of our Christian faith. Each worship service is carefully planned so that there is ample time for all to hear the Word of God as well as time to respond to God’s love through litany and song.
Each and every Sunday morning you will hear and experience numerous opportunities to communicate with the Lord through music. Sometimes our song is praise. Sometimes our song is comfort. Sometimes our song is petition to God. Sometimes our song is proclamation of God’s faithfulness.
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir is the flagship choral ensemble of our music ministry. Members of this group strive each week to offer the very best that they have to the Lord through songs, anthems and hymn-arrangements in a wide-variety of musical styles. Additionally, the Sanctuary Choir presents musical and seasonal programs with orchestral accompaniment throughout the year including Advent and Holy Week.
Children's Choirs
The primary music activity for children is our fully graded children’s choir program. Throughout the year our children lead in worship services and sing for seasonal programs.Handbells
