Worship
We gather to praise the Lord of life, to give thanks, and to go out into our everyday lives with renewed faith. St. Paul worship services are an artful blending of God’s Word, hymn-singing, instrumentation, drama, and dazzling images.
Under construction in Utah is a majestic new pipe organ for St. Paul worship — due for arrival and installation in our new sanctuary in early Fall 2008. M.L. Bigelow & Co. of American Fork, Utah, has created a beautiful asymmetrical design that will be a handsome fit for the beauty and acoustics of the new sanctuary. This new instrument is expected to be one of the finest organs in the region.
International connections mean musical excellence. Two keyboards are under construction in England. Metal pipes are being built in Holland; reed pipes will come from Germany. From pencil-sized pipes to the soaring 16-foot “Low C” pipe in the organ facade, the pipes number around 2,800.
The organ case will stand nearly 36 feet tall at the highest tower, stretching 22 feet wide and 12 feet deep. The finely-polished cabinetry is being crafted of quarter-sawn white oak.
