Westminster Presbyterian Church - Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Our goal as a church is to introduce people to Jesus Christ. We hope to provide you a place to feel connected, cared for and valued.

We offer three services each Sunday during the program year (Sept.- May):

Traditional service in the Chapel, featuring a 40-minute service with organ and piano music.

Blended/contemporary service in the Family Life Center. This informal and uplifting service features a family style atmosphere as we worship around tables and enjoy a cup of coffee or juice. A Praise Band, made up of members of the church, leads our worship at this service, which includes multimedia.

Traditional service in the Sanctuary. This service features our Chancel Choir each week, as well as frequent special music presentations.

During the summer (June-August) we feature three services each weekend:

Saturday evening service in the Atrium. This informal service is usually 30-40 minutes in length and features piano music and a hymn sing each week.

Blended/contemporary service in the Family Life Center on Sunday mornings.

Traditional service in the Sanctuary on Sunday mornings, featuring special music presentations by members and friends of the church while our Chancel Choir takes a summer break.

Our Music Ministry
Music is an important part of our worship life and has always been a hallmark of Westminster Presbyterian Church. In the Psalms, we are encouraged to make a joyful noise and come into God’s presence with singing. For this reason, we have several different groups:

Chancel Choir leads the 11:00 a.m. service on Sunday mornings.

The Minister Bells participates in worship on a regular basis.

The Logos Choir comprised of children grades K-5 that regularly provides special music at the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Sunday services.

The Logos Bells is another part of our grades K-5 Logos program, this group performs in worship on a regular basis.
The Joyful Noise is our middle and high school student choir, this vibrant group regularly performs at the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services.

The Praise Band. Though we’re still looking for a name for this group, that doesn’t diminish the enthusiasm and excitement they bring to our 9:00 a.m. worship service. Made up of piano, guitar, drums, and vocals, this fun and laid back group rehearses on Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center.
