Christ Church Cathedral - Indianapolis, IN

The present Christ Church Cathedral structure was built between 1857 and 1859. A splendid example of 13th Century Gothic parochial architecture, it integrates stone and wood. In 1973, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
As servants of the risen Christ, we are called to invite all people to the foot of the Cross so that together we may live the grace of the Resurrection.
Sunday Offerings:
8 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite I
9 a.m. Sung Eucharist, Rite II
10 a.m. Christian Formation (for children and adults)
11 a.m. Choral Eucharist, Rite II
1 p.m. Santa Eucaristía (Spanish-language service)
On July 18, 2000, the first Holy Eucharist in Spanish was celebrated, and since that occasion, hundreds of Hispanic persons have been cared for in the search for God’s help in meeting their diverse needs. Please see our web site for a schedule of services.

The Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys, formed in 1883, has achieved an international reputation for choral excellence. In addition to performing with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Men and Boys have sung numerous commissioned works and have frequently appeared on radio and television broadcasts. They have also released several recordings, including excerpts from Messiah, released in 2005 by Four Winds Entertainment.
The Cathedral Girls' Choir, founded in 1945, sings at the 9 a.m. service each Sunday. The Choir has appeared in concert with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and has also performed on overseas tours.
In 1980, Frederick Burgomaster founded the Indianapolis Festival Chorus, and in 1997 he founded the Indianapolis Baroque Singers, for the purpose of performing works of the great choral masters, particularly those intended for mixed voices.

The Cathedral has three organs:
* The Chancel Organ. Hellmuth Wolff and Associates, Op. 32 (1990)
* Gallery Organ. Taylor and Boody Organ Builders, Op. 19 (1992)
* Frederick E. Weber Memorial Continuo Positive Organ. Brombaugh Organ Builders (1996)

Our presence is not to compete with churches or religious groups but to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to serve in his name all who are in need and ask for help, because “whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.” Mt. 10:40
WELCOME.
