Central is a church that is located in downtown Springfield, Illinois. We are central to the city. We are central to the state. We are helping people find the center of God's will.

Our Worship Services
Classic Worship - The Classic service is, in every sense of the word, a classic worship experience. Our Chancel Choir sings an Introit and Anthem each week, as well as leads the congregation in a variety of hymns. The organ is used to accompany the hymns, and we also have a beautiful grand piano.

Contemporary Worship - Music in the Contemporary service is led by a worship band, which includes drums, electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitar, and several vocalists. Selections of music are from contemporary worship artists such as Chris Tomlin, Third Day, Mark Roach, and Casting Crowns, as well as modern versions of some excellent hymns.

Music
Music, perhaps more than any of the other Fine Arts, has the power to connect with our souls. Maybe it's because God, Himself, is a musician - throughout the Bible God speaks in song and verse. Whatever the reason, music is the language in which our spirits and emotions speak to God, and therefore is one of the best ways we come together and worship Him. Central Baptist Church has excellent music! Our Classic Worship service is filled with choral music and beautiful instrumental works. Our Contemporary Worship service focuses on the worship music of today's generation while blending in a variety of styles and elements. In short, the music of our church is as varied as the people in our family.
