On Sunday mornings, you have the opportunity to choose the worship style that best fits your personal interest. St. John offers a traditional worship service which has its roots in forms used by the Jews before the time of Christ and further developed by the Christian Church throughout the centuries. The musical setting has its roots in the 16th century choral style. A contemporary worship service is also offered, which continues the valid tradition of the church's worship forms but uses a musical setting in tune with Christian musical styles being developed today.

Contemporary Christian music was introduced to St. John Lutheran in 1992 with a piano, guitar and drums led by three of St. John's gifted musicians. The group became known as Jubilation, and the Lord expanded that musical ministry to 16 in 2001 and added another contemporary group called Joyful Reign with an additional 10 musicians and vocalists.

The contemporary Christian music ministry at St. John has produced three CDs and a Bible study written around the biblical passages that inspired many of the songs. Today the groups are combined, adding another dimension to the special blends of harmony and praise, still including many of the original songs along with current Christian praise favorites.
