At Second Baptist, we are all about loving God and loving people. We believe that in doing this, we are obeying the words of Jesus found in the gospel of Matthew.
The Worship and Music Ministry here at Second Baptist Church exists for one purpose: to glorify God through worship and praise.
Our Sanctuary Choir is called the Celebration Choir for good reason: they love to celebrate our great Savior through songs of worship. Along with our Celebration Orchestra, they lead the congregation in worship each Sunday morning, occasionally on Sunday evenings and present special musicals throughout the year.
Our Worship Team is made up of a group of singers who lead in worship on Sunday mornings and occasionally on Sunday evenings. Most of the music presented by our team is contemporary and new worship songs and choruses.
"Spirit & Truth" is our student choir which regularly leads in our Sunday evening worship services and special concerts and musicals throughout the year.
Our children's choir, Kingdom Kidz Choir and Kidz Praize Choir, share their music with our church throughout the year as well as provide special music from time to time during our evening services.
Here at Second Baptist Church, Christmas is all about celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ. Every Christmas Season, we host a spectacular musical presentation that we call the "Griffin Christmas Celebration," complete with a cast of hundreds and two Singing Christmas Trees. the Celebration Choir, Celebration Orchestra, Student Choir and Children's Choirs all participates. DVDS of our 2007 "Griffin Christmas Celebration" are available on our Online Bookstore and through our church office.
