When Pastor Rudolph McKissick, Jr. & the Word and Worship Mass Choir recorded their first album, Because You Are Worthy, they had no idea of the stir it would cause. Through the project, McKissick opened wide the doors to the amazing music and ministry of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church in Jacksonville, Florida.

As word spread, the music industry began to take notice of McKissick's "Bethel-style" worship along with the 200+ strong voice Word and Worship Mass Choir and the innovative spirit of the church.

Each Sunday, under the direction of McKissick, the worship leader and Bethel's Word and Worship Mass Choir lead the congregation on an exhilarating journey through a variety of musical styles. "The 'Bethel Experience' is very diverse, with hymns, spirituals, anthems, as well as contemporary," explained Pastor McKissick. "In most every worship service you will hear one rendition of each of those styles. No matter what you like, you'll hear it before the end of the service."

The purpose is to enhance the purest spirit that dwells in the heart of man by learning that love of Jesus. The music format is presented in many forms including the full driving sound of the gospel, the lofty intensity of the anthem, and the soothing waves of the classical music.

Our Deaf Ministry leads communicational interpretation during services and activities both inside and outside of the church.

Sunday Worship: 7:40 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.
