We are more than just the big white building on the corner of Hendricks and Atlantic in historic San Marco - we are a faith community committed to following Jesus christ, sharing His love with each other and the world, and seeking new and fresh ways to live out our calling to be citizens of the Kingdom of God.

Our services are blended in style utilizing a combination of traditional and contemporary Christian music.

Southside’s Music and Worship Ministry strives to provide a quality musical backdrop for the individual and corporate worship of the church.

There are seventeen different musical groups at Southside Baptist.

Adult Music
Southside’s Worship Choir and Praise Team. These groups lead us each week in music. Uniformity of vocal color for the production of a beautiful choral sound is the constant goal in the choir. In addition to leading in worship each Sunday, adult singers are also involved in each year’s Singing Christmas Tree, “It’s a Grand Night for Singing” concert, patriotic concerts, and Gospel Nights.

Senior Adult Music
The Heritage Singers is our Senior Adult Choir. This group regularly sings for worship and special occasions. They also have a concert ministry to retirement facilities and nursing homes.

Ensembles
Adult, Men's, Ladies' and Adult Handbells. Each vocal ensemble sings a variety of styles of Christian music from gospel to contemporary, traditional to jazz. Each ensemble regularly sings/plays for worship and members are selected through an interview/audition process.

Our three handbell ensembles provide music for worship. This group of people making music through handbells provides a living picture of what it means to be a cooperating community of believers. The sound of bells adds richness to the worship experiences in which they share.

Student Music
Southside Singers, Guys' Ensemble and Girls' Ensemble.
Our students are an integral part of our music ministry and bring a fresh, unique outlook on life and the Christian faith. The Southside Singers student choir is comprised of middle and high school students. This choir as well as the different ensembles and instrumental groups provide music for worship on a regular basis.
