Lakewood is a church of Open Hearts, Open Minds and Open Doors for people looking for an experience of genuine Christian faith and a community of hope.

Since 1953, when the church was founded, many have become a part of our family of faith. If you were to ask them why they attend, they would likely tell you it was because they have found Lakewood to be a warm, loving body of believers. They might also tell you they come so their children can experience our dynamic children’s and youth ministries. Or still others might say that they come to experience God on Sunday morning in our joyful and uplifting worship services.

Our music ministry has been the backbone of Lakewood's worship services for many years. Our tremendous music programs range from kid choirs to adult choirs and groups.

Music Ministries

Chancel Choir - The Chancel Choir is an adult choir that provides music for the morning worship services. From this choral group also come various mixed voice trios, quartets, ladies’ ensembles and men’s ensembles. The Chancel Choir sponsors a dinner theater including all ensembles in the music ministry.

Aglow Youth Choir - The Aglow Youth Choir is youth grades 7 through 12. his group takes an annual choir tour in the early summer and has traveled in 49 states presenting their message in song and mission work.

Handbells - Lakewood has two Adult groups. These groups play at worship services and other special services.

Testify! - This group of youth, young adults, and college-age singers share their talents during worship and special services.

Hosanna! - This ensemble performs contemporary Christian music during worship services as well as special services.

Lakewood Youth Praise Band - The Youth Praise Band leads our congregation with special praise music during our worship services.

Lakewood Orchestra - This instrumental ensemble periodically shares in morning worship services and special musicals.

Children’s Choirs - There are three children’s choirs from ages 4 through 6th grade.
