We are answering the call to live and model a progressive spirituality by offering worship that is open to all people, regardless of what they believe. Our sacraments are symbols of God’s love and grace, which we believe are unconditionally and universally offered.

Sunshine Cathedral is one parish that meets in multiple locations: Fort Lauderdale, Jamaica, and soon we will offer services in the Miami area. Our Fort Lauderdale location is at 1480 SW 9th Avenue. Sunshine Cathedral is a member of Metropolitan Community Churches and is affiliated with The Center for Progressive Christianity.

In 2008 we completed the remodeling of our Chancel. A four-manual Trillium Masterpiece Rodgers Organ with ten ranks of Fratelli Ruffatti pipes (from Padua, Italy) will be installed, making the Walt Lawrence & Stephen Lewis Worship Center of the Sunshine Cathedral a first-class performance space both for organ concerts and other performing arts events.

These identical services blend the liturgy of the earliest Christian church — a pattern which has been followed for over 1700 years — with contemporary spirituality and life-affirming messages. The Cathedral Choir and Orchestra provides inspiring music for this powerful worship experience.

Our Midweek Worship
Wednesday 7:00 pm
The Robert Graham & Paul Fasana Chapel
The lights are lower, the music quieter. This sets the tone for our Midweek Worship experience. The service includes a homily, a guided meditation, candle lighting, Communion from the Reserved Sacrament, opportunities for healing prayer, and songs and prayers from a variety of traditions. This oasis in an otherwise bustling world helps to refocus us on what really matters!
