Christ Church Choir
The Christ Church Choir is a diverse group of volunteer choristers who share their love of singing and music-making each week at the ten o clock service. Choir season runs annually from September to early June.

Christ Church makes use of no less than three hymnals: the core of the Sunday singing is drawn from the 1982 Hymnal, but is richly supplemented by the African-American hymnal, Lift Every Voice and Sing, and the 1982 supplement, Wonder, Love and Praise. We sing a wide variety of styles and genres each season, ranging from classics to moderns. American spirituals, medieval chants, traditional English anthems, Elizabethan motets and modern hymnody all make appearances throughout the liturgical year if you re looking for variety, you won t be disappointed!

Jesse Nathan Glaude Organist and Choirmaster
Jesse Nathan Glaude is a graduate of the Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, where he studied sacred music, choral conducting, organ and harpsichord. He received his degree in Organ Performance with highest honors, and continued his training at the Princeton Early Keyboard Center. In frequent demand as a concert organist and choral conductor, he maintains a vigorous schedule as a recitalist, teacher and church musician. He is on the Board of Directors of the New London County Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and chairs the Guild s committee for young musicians. He has been director of music at Christ Church since 2005, and is founder and Artistic Director of the Chamber Music at Christ Church series.

Chamber Music at Christ Church
In an effort to bolster the arts in the quickly expanding and redeveloping city of Norwich, the Chamber Music at Christ Church series was founded in 2006 by our organist and choirmaster Jesse N. Glaude and our rector, the Reverend S. Scott Hankins. Designed to showcase the musicians of eastern Connecticut and to present programs of lesser known and rarer works within the classical repertoire, the series is quickly becoming a vital part of our parish life and of the greater community. There is nothing quite like an afternoon of fine music-making in our lovely and historic sanctuary, or in the more intimate and sunlit space of our chapel.
