We gather weekly because God has promised to meet us there through the Word of God proclaimed, and through the sacramental presence of Jesus in the water of baptism and the bread and wine of the Eucharist. In response to this saving gift of life, we offer our songs and prayers of thanksgiving.

Martin Luther said once that next to theology, music was the most divine pursuit in this life. Music is an aid to worship, but is itself a means of offering glory to God.

We offer a robust music ministry at First, beginning with diverse hymnody and special music during worship.

Adult Choir; Bell Choir; Youth Choir; the FulCRuMS Music Series presenting everything from Classical to Gospel; regular instrumental accompaniment for the liturgy, and the less formal but no less enjoyable ad hoc groups including the Pews Brothers Band and the Mid Life Crisis Players.

We also host special community events including the Palm Sunday New Britain Choral Concert and an ecumenical Good Friday service.

We warmly welcome people of any race, nationality, sexual orientation, age, ability, possessions, or education. A community of believers, we are empowered by faith in Jesus Christ to make the Gospel open to all and visible to all whose lives we touch.
