For the past 140 years, Asylum Hill Congregation Church has been a leader in the spiritual community of Hartford, Connecticut. We are a member of the United Church of Christ and the church home for more than 1800 members who reside in Hartford and more than 20 surrounding towns.
In addition to Sunday services, the magnificent main sanctuary is also host to numerous concert and community events.

We take pride in being a warm, accepting community and welcome all persons who wish to experience the love of God through Jesus Christ. At AHCC we find friendship, dynamic sermons and a renewed personal relationship with God. We unconditionally accept each other and anyone who joins us as a disciple of Christ at any stage of their spiritual search.

Sanctuary Choir – The Asylum Hill Church Sunday Choir consists of 50+ volunteer and professional singers and is the primary musical leadership for Sunday morning worship. This ensemble explores a variety of musical periods and styles in an effort to open minds and hearts to the word of God.



Youth Band “The God Squad” - is made up of High School musicians who have made an additional rehearsal commitment to play together as a rock/pop band in preparation for Worship and other Youth Events. These active members of our Youth Group schedule rehearsals around the larger youth program and calendared events.

Choir Club – The Choir Club is made up of our Cherub and Children’s Choirs in a format of music, fellowship and food that emphasizes commitment and growth, both musically and spiritually.

Handbell Choir – An ensemble of 12-15 adult ringers, the ensemble rings the church’s five-octave set of Malmark handbells (near 60 bells) during Sunday worship five to six times per season, is an integral part of the Boar’s Head Festival and is available to perform outreach performances at civic events and extended care facilities.

Asylum Hill Performing Arts Series – Our performing arts series presents local, national and international artists in our historic sanctuary and the intimate space of Drew Hall. Programming is designed to showcase the highest possible quality performances in the performing and visual arts at an affordable price.
