Worship at Second Church is surprising in the best sense; our worship includes creative and thought-provoking preaching, a diversity of musical styles, healing and heartfelt prayer, and the innovative use of the arts.

We are a church that extensively uses the arts in its ministries of Christian education and spiritual development, worship, pastoral care, and outreach.

Music Ministry

The Chancel Choir consists of a combination of professional musicians and volunteers from the congregation. The choir sings at most Sunday Services and also provides special music during Christmas/Advent, Martin Luther King Weekend, and Holy Week/ Lent.

Just-For-Men and Just-For-Women Choruses - in addition to regular singing with the Chancel Choir, the JFM and JFW Choruses engage in a number of unique musical events, including a Valentine's Day concert (JFM) and participation in the "Broadway and Chili Night" and the "Evening of Operatunity."

In addition to regular Sunday services, the groups are also responsible for arranging several special concerts and musical events throughout the church year.
