"We, the members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ventura, united by our liberal religious tradition, seek truths and meaning, and commit to right action. We will nurture our congregation and carry our principles forth to better ourselves, our community and our planet. To these purposes, we pledge our hearts and hands, our minds and means."

The first efforts to establish Unitarian Universalism in Ventura occurred in 1951 with the creation of a Unitarian Fellowship. A well-organized choir formed in the late 90's.

Sunday morning is our main gathering time as a community. A typical Sunday service begins with a musical prelude. Our services also include readings, singing, a time of quiet meditation or prayer, sharing of joys and concerns, a monetary collection to support the church, and a sermon by the minister or a guest speaker.

We often end our service by joining hands for a simple closing song. A member might share some original music inspired by the worship theme. After the service, we hope you'll stay for social hour and let us get to know you better. In addition to Sunday services, there are many activities going on weekly that you might enjoy. The next chapter of our history is yet to be created and written. We hope you will be part of writing that future.
