The Wesley United Methodist Church (WUMC) of San Jose traces its origin back more than 100 years to 1895, when Japanese immigrants, seeking a spiritual haven in their newly-adopted country, began meeting in the Santa Clara Valley.

While remaining true to its Japanese heritage, WUMC in recent years has become a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-generational church family. All are welcome to worship and fellowship at Wesley, where people of diverse backgrounds seek unity in the common ground based on the teachings and example of Jesus Christ.
