Church of the Advent of Christ the King is an historic Anglo-Catholic parish of the Episcopal Diocese of California, which is part of the Anglican Communion of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church. Founded in 1858, we are one of the oldest parishes in the diocese. The parish is located in the Civic Center area of San Francisco in the heart of the city.
The Episcopal Church affirms that every human being, without distinction, is created in the image of God, and has a full and equal claim on the love and pastoral care of the Church.

To be a member of Church of the Advent is to be a part of a worship community. Worship is the central purpose of the life of our parish, and we've maintained a strong liturgical tradition in our 120-year history. Daily worship is a central experience that binds us as a catholic Christian community.

Our Services

Our weekday 7:30am and Sunday 9:00am services are simple Low Masses with no music.

On Sundays at 11:00am and on major feast days we celebrate High Mass with music, three sacred ministers, and a full altar party.

On the first and third Saturday of each month we also observe traditional Latin Chant Mass at 5:00pm.
