California Heights United Methodist Church is a community of thoughtful and compassionate Christians in the heart of the California Heights and Bixby Knolls neighborhoods of Long Beach.

What you can expect at a Cal Heights Worship Celebration:

• A community of Christians who are loving, welcoming, imperfect
  and seeking to know God better.

• The worship service will be somewhat traditional but also
  comfortable, warm and inviting.

• Come dressed however you feel comfortable.

• The Scriptures will be read and explained in ways that help us
  to grow as Christians.

• The music will be great. Some traditional hymns, some more
  contemporary songs and awesome choirs.

The Friends of Music is a group consisting of members of California Heights United Methodist Church and the greater Long Beach community. Through financial and organizational support, it inspires music in the community by providing programs of the highest quality and varying styles. The Friends of Music at Cal Heights has been instrumental in providing excellent music to the community for over 40 years. In addition to performances by our own fine ensembles, we are proud to present a number of concerts featuring performers from our greater community.

The season of concerts is funded entirely by donations and does not use funds from the church's operating budget. All of the concerts are presented in the historic Cal Heights sanctuary and are free of charge (unless otherwise noted). Child care will be provided, although children are welcome to attend.
