The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church seeks to glorify God in Christ, communicating the Gospel in vibrant and creative fashion. Providing music groups for every age, the Music Ministry involves hundreds of persons in educational and service activities on a weekly basis. We place great emphasis upon the worship of God-and upon the wonderful responsibilities of leading and equipping persons to be actively involved in that important act.

The Choral Division encompasses preschoolers through senior adults and is one of the finest programs of its kind in our region and state.

The FBC Orchestra seeks to live out the mission of First Baptist Church, Huntsville: Loving God, Serving Others, and Growing Disciples. Members of the orchestra come from many walks of life----teachers, engineers, doctors, civil servants, police officers, students (graduate, collegiate, and high school), social workers, musicians (active and retired), etc. Each Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. this diverse group gathers for a rehearsal time that ushers forth not only in beautiful music but also in a deeper sense of worship, fellowship and ministry to and through the ensemble. It is a group that experiences”family” as we rehearse and perform together. Experienced players sit next to inexperienced players and help to foster the development of God-given talents. Prayer times allow the group members to share in the joys and sorrows of each other. Devotional messages can also be found in our approach to rehearsal time every week. Musical and spiritual challenges are continually placed before this organization!

Presented annually since 1984, The Living Christmas Tree is FBC’s Christmas gift to the city. A spectacle of sight and sound, the Tree features over 150 singers, a 50-piece orchestra, and literally thousands of lights!

Multiple presentations each year are needed to accommodate the crowds of interested attenders. The music spans from traditional carol favorites to festive holiday settings, from classical masterpieces to contemporary pop and jazz.

A vast array of volunteers help to plan, promote, construct, decorate and perform on the Tree. It is truly a churchwide project, uniting all ages and backgrounds in a very special experience of worship, celebration, fellowship and ministry.
