"How many different ways can we say thank you to God for the wonders of his mercy and grace? Our response to God’s goodness is the wind in our sails in First Church’s worship arts ministries.

As we seek to attract, build and commission disciples for Jesus Christ, the worship arts ministries of First United Methodist Church present creative opportunities to accomplish this task. Through choirs, dance, drama, handbells, instrumental music, and contemporary worship we offer praise to the risen Christ!"

Our two adult choirs are active in ministry both during worship and beyond the Church walls. Some of our activities include an annual spiritual renewal retreat, mission and service projects, and occasionally, singing the Star Spangled Banner at area sporting events. The Chapel Choir sings in our 8:30 a.m. worship service. The Chancel Choir sings in our 11:00 a.m. worship service.



The Praise and Worship Team provides musical and worship leadership at our 9:45 a.m. contemporary service called "The River." Our goal is to "Refresh, Renew and Release The Power."



Kingdom Kids (K-2nd grade) and Flame Force (3rd-5th grade). Both choirs sing the same music at both times so that if the child attends only Sunday or Wednesday they are ready to sing with Kingdom Kids or Flame Force during worship and special events.

Joyful Ringers, our handbell choir, performs one Sunday each month from October through June. The group also participates in the annual Tulsa Fest ringing festival. Our music is challenging and rewarding for all.

Our Orchestra usually performs in the traditional worship services on the fourth Sunday of each month.

The W.W.J.S. Youth Choir (that stands for "What Would Jesus Sing?") is youth in grades 6-12. they sing a wide variety of anthems and praise music and perform in one worship service each month throughout the school year, as well as in occasional special services.

We have three services to choose from. 8:30 a.m. 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Our 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services are traditional service, with our 9:45 is a contemporary service, Called The River.
