Review - A Sentimental Christmas (Kathy Troccoli)

Jazzy and elegant, majestically orchestral and soothingly
gentle, Kathy Troccoli's Christmas certainly is sentimental.
She sings a good mix of traditional Christmas hymns as
well as more contemporary Christmas sentiments. If you're
not a jazz fan this isn't the Christmas album for you.
But if you like your Christmas songs spruced up a bit,
you'll love this album.
Songs like 'What Child Is This?' are treated more gently,
with soft jazz percussion in the background and modest
horns. 'Let It Snow' has more punchy horns and drums,
but still establishes a wonderful contrast between quieter
and more lively parts of the song.
Other songs like 'It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The
Year' are very upbeat and lively.
Overall strong vocals, great music, and good production
make this album a good choice for the Christmas season.
