Justin McRoberts Justin McRoberts is a born and raised
Californian. Born on January 1,1974 in Oakland, he lived in the Bay
Area near San Francisco, during his childhood, youth, and young adulthood.
In 1992, at the age of 18, Justin went on staff with Young
Life in Northern California, and spent 3 and a half years working with
young people, developing connections and ministering to them, learning
to use his musical talents to communicate on an effective level.
In 1998 Justin McRoberts entered the mainstream Contemporary
Christian music world as a singer-songwriter. When he first started
out he was recording with the 5 Minute Walk label, but he has since
gone independent, giving Justin more creative freedom to not only develop
his musical talents, but to be free to "apply the principles of service
I learned through Young Life and 5 Minute Walk Records to all aspects
of my music career" while being in service to the Lord, aimed at an
audience near and dear to his heart; young people!

Justin is married to Amy, and side by side they work together
on their ministry, trying to keep it simple. Since going independent,
Justin and Amy are getting a lot of support from friends involved in
different fields of work, related to music; most notably in music promotion.
Justin McRoberts does have one prominently recognizable tradmark. Most
of his albums' lyrical messages carry a theme, or encourage the listener
by providing a path to follow. Justin knows that he is called to be
not only a musician with a Christian ministry, but also a communicator
to the world of people he comes in contact with, through his own behavior
in the various aspects of his ministry.
While Justin McRoberts was recording with his label, 5
Minute Walk, he released his first 2 albums, "Reason for Living" and
"Father". Both these albums were inspired by his own personal experiences;
both good and bad. In 2001, McRoberts released his first independently
labeled CD, "The UnTitled EP" which was a group of worship songs.
Going with a different angle, in 2002 Justin McRoberts
released "Trust", with two goals in mind. This album was meant to touch
and focus on people who have not yet let God into their world, and to
help believers in Jesus understand the non-christian mind set.

In 2005, Masaki from Five Iron Frenzy, and Justin McRoberts co-produced
"Grace Must Wound". This album comes from a Flannery O'Connor quote,
"Grace must wound before it heals." and features an acoustic pop sound
paired with gutsy lyrics, helping listeners "to see the difference between
Jesus and Christianity."
