Delirious?' first step away from their worship material of 'Cutting
Edge' (paradoxically?) continues to lift up everything to God. If there
is one word for Delirious?, it is vulnerable. Smith and his merry band
have started their own record label to pursue music full time and the
result is giving over everything to God to become the 'King of Fools'.
Pure, raw vibe and some of the best ever written rock and worship songs
introduce the rest of the world to these five humble guys who want to
go deeper with God.
Delirious? are commited to Jesus in such an amazing way and their music
is just a huge expression of that joy. They hope for revival ('Hallelujah,
You've turned our sorrow into laughter' - Revival Town), prayerfully
rejoice in God's mercy ('You know I would be blind without You / So
light up my way to find my way home again' - All The Way), thank God
for his gift of life (August 30th), unashamedly declare the gospel of
convenant (Promise), exuberantly praise the Most High for His gift of
peace (White Ribbon Day), and declare God's strength as He supports
them ('I'll live for You and try to be the king of fools / I long for
you and walk before the King of fools' - King Of Fools).
To say that Delirious?' music has catchy tunes and poetic, truth-revealing
lyrics would be a great understatement. Merging edgy rock and a worshipful
heart that's meant to thrive in the church is no easy job, but Delirious?
have done it. As their musical style progresses and changes, they will
no doubt continue to inspire faith in many hearts.
Catch the wave. You don't want to miss it.
