Mission Statement: "My mission statement
for this particular project, is to impact people with a different
delivery of the messages of Christ. I hope to reach people in a
real way. If I can impact someone and cause them for example, to
be convicted about their time with God or by their behavior, then
I have made a difference."
"Sometimes the best way to reach people
is to hit them with the reality of life itself, because that’s what
they are living. All of the songs in this cd will impact each and
everyone in a different way. I guarantee you that the impact on
their life will be real and so will the reaction." - David
Dowlen

An Overview of David Dowlen's Debut Album
- GIVING ALL MY PRAISE....
David describes his music this way."I
would describe my music as rhythm and praise music. The message
is there but it still has a feel that sounds mainstream, so that
most everyone will listen and like it."
This reviewer heartily agrees with the above
description. This collection of songs found on GIVING ALL MY PRAISE
is great Contemporary Christian music which both pumps up and lifts
the spirit, soothes the nerves, feeds the soul, and puts the listener
in another world of well done and interesting music, yet is convicting
and encourages us all in our daily walk whether a believer or a
seeker!
David Dowlen and his partner / producer on
this project, composer Eric B. Jackson have put together quite an
inspiring MUST HAVE CD, which so beautifully mixes and blends a
variety styles of music, with lyrics and well done vocals and even
rap which has the effect of encouraging the listener, whether a
seeker or believer to become closer to the Lord. Whether the listener
is encouraged to begin a walk with Jesus through accepting him as
Lord and Savior, or a believer who is inspired to be thankful for
what the Lord has personally done for his / her life, as well as
reflect on areas of their own behavior which need some work, this
CD will bless the listener and spur on the type of spiritual growth
which can embolden and evolve one's relationship with the Lord.
Through this collection of songs, David and
Eric have shared personally their musical gifts, talents and what
the Lord has taught them on their own spiritual journeys. One can
hear it through Eric's musical compositions which so perfectly and
creatively match the mood, emotion and spirit of the lyrical messages,
strong, melodic, poignant vocals and excellently done rap, courtesy
of David Dowlen. David Dowlen not only creates meaningful lyrics,
sings / performs really well from the heart, but he is an excellent
rapper in two of the songs; which is effective, clear and not over
the top.
The lyrical messages found in David Dowlen's
songs have themes which reflect and explore both the struggles he
personally has dealt with and people around him have had to face,
offering Jesus Christ as the answer, a source to turn to for strength,
forgiveness, love, and purpose in life.
David Dowlen explores lyrically some areas
in which all human beings struggle with, including believers, who
belong to Jesus but still have struggles, as we all do!
"My lyrics are based on my everyday
life experiences. Things I struggle with. Some of the songs are
based on things I have learned spiritually. For example the song
"Consequences" was birthed out of things that I had learned
spiritually."
Struggles / Spiritual truths explored in the lyrics:
There are natural consequences to human sin - CONSEQUENCES
Our need for Jesus as our Lord and Savior - JESUS IS THE ONE
YOU NEED
Our need for the Lord in our daily struggles - FORGIVENESS *
I NEED YOU * I'M STILL WAITING
The Lord is also praised and appreciated
throughout the CD for what a loving, merciful, forgiving, faithful
presence and help He has been in David Dowlen's life, and is also
a source of inspiration for personal reflection of how the Lord
has been the same in the listener's life, and how to stay close
to the Lord, be strengthened to stand up to our weaknesses and how
to serve Him, appreciate Him in ways that bring glory to Him.
Spending Quality time in His word, and talking to God - QUALITY
TIME * GOT ME
Worship the Lord - GIVING ALL MY PRAISE * SHOUT PRAISES
Serving the Lord - USE ME
GIVING ALL MY PRAISE is
indeed an album which deserves a place in anyone's Christian music
collection, and would be a blessing to the listener no matter where
you are on your spiritual journey and where you are in your relationship
with the Lord.
Let's take a closer look at David Dowlen.......
About David Dowlen...
Jeremiah 29:11, 13 - "For I know the plans
I have for you, declares the Lord....Plans to give you hope and
a future... You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with
all your heart.
It is always fascinating how the Lord faithfully
works in the lives of Christian artists, to find ways to nurture
and grow seeds of not only faith in His Son, but character traits
they will need to be in the ministries, preparing them on several
levels for the work and ministry He has planned just for them during
their lifetimes.
Throughout David's life, the Lord has been
and still is faithful, putting people in David's life to teach and
mold him, plant seeds of faith, and giving him experiences, opportunities
to develop attitudes, skills, character, and his musicianship, which
all together has prepared him to be in a Christian music ministry
for Jesus Christ. His love for the Lord, his musical talent, his
drive and work ethic, his self-discipline, his love for his family
and others and learning to serve are all key elements which the
Lord patiently helped David to develop, beginning at an early age,
building upon David's natural talents, experiences, and circumstances
in his life.

A
very young David with his Dad
David Dowlen was blessed by growing up in
a two parent family, with lots of siblings. His Dad and Mom gave
lots of love, discipline, and guidance, and took the time to teach
values and ethics to their children and also lived by these same
principles themselves.
David shares some of what his early life
was like growing up in Ohio, with ChristianMusic.com.
Proverbs 22:8 "Train up a child in
the way that he should go and when he is old, he will not turn from
it."

David
at 5 years
"I grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio,
a suburb of Cleveland. I was the eighth child born of nine children;
seven girls and two boys. Good kid growing up. Never gave my parents
a hard time or got into trouble. They (his parents) didn't tolerate
bad behavior of any sort. None of us ever went really wayward -
Good kids."
His parents, especially his Dad instilled
the idea that a person must work to get what he wants in life, taking
the initiative, seeing the process through. His Mom stressed to
David and his siblings to learn an honest trade to support themselves.
David Dowlen's spirit of not being
afraid to go after a goal, an important trait needed in being an
entrepreneur began to make itself known when he was a boy, as he
learned by his own Dad's example, and through his Dad's methods
of teaching young David what he wanted to instill.
David shares with ChristianMusic.com, "My
work ethic and entrepreneurial traits came from my Dad alone. I
watched him work two jobs come home and fall asleep nodding in front
of the TV at the kitchen table. Good memories. I had a paper route
and he bought me a wagon and made me pay him back 5 dollars every
time I got my little money until it was paid for".

David
at 9 years
David learned by his own Dad's example, and
took to heart the lesson instilled in him by his father that you
had to work for what you want. When
the chance to compete in a cool dance contest, David signed up and
gave it a shot, performing very well indeed, with skill and style.
David explains, "I loved dancing
and music growing up. I remember entering a Michael Jackson thriller
dance contest and won."
So it's not surprising to this reviewer when
David explained to Christianmusic.com, "Always been an entrepreneur
in some kind of way. I have had numerous businesses. My latest is
a construction business."

David's Dad died when he was 16, a terrible
loss for a teenager. While David didn't know the Lord at this time,
the Lord had provided comfort and care for David through his loving
mother and his siblings; a loving family to lean on for encouragement
and strength. David didn't forget what his Dad had taught him, and
carried on with his life, graduating from High School.
Beginning a life of Service.......

After graduating from high school, David
began his first adventure in serving others, by deciding to serve
his country first, and joined the military.
David comments,"I went into the United
States Marine Corps after high school and stayed in the reserves
for 7 years. I got out just before the first Desert storm war in
1990. The marines taught me a lot about teamwork and discipline;
qualities I try to instill in my 14 year old son."

During the years of the 1990s', David experienced
joys and sorrows in his personal life, which further molded him
and grew his faith. As of 2005, he is now married to Kathy and has
a 14 year old son, Isaiah.

In 1989, David began his service to his community
by becoming a police officer, and started to take college classes
in the mid 1990s' which supported his career in law enforcement.
David explains, "I have been a policeman
since 1989 and still somewhat enjoy the job. I
eventually ended up back in school in the 90-‘s and am now 11 classes
away from my bachelors degree in criminal justice."
Remembering what his mother had told him,
David started a construction business, using his natural entrepreneurial
traits and his abilities to build things. David comments, "My
Mom would always tell me she wanted me to learn a trade. She died
in '96 never really getting to see where I've taken my construction
business. See, us kids do listen."
Musical Influences:
David Dowlen's love for the arts was evident
in his growing up years. His life long love for singing and his
hobby of writing music which he had long dabbled in was nurtured
and influenced by the music that swirled around him. It is no wonder
that he loved music and dance as a child and youth, growing up in
an atmosphere where developing musical talent and tastes was encouraged.
All of his much older siblings loved to listen
to the radio, and they strongly encouraged him to do so also.
David Shares, "Growing up I listened
to all kinds of music. I have sisters who were 10-15 years my senior,
so I had to listen to what they did; mainly Motown and Casey Kasem’s
top forty show. I am very eclectic in my music tastes."
Music was appreciated and musical talent
was evident in his large family. Both of his parents had musical
talent; his older sister Janice had a wonderful singing talent,
which she made good use of, recording professionally. David
shares, "My sister, Janice, who died in 1991, was a very talented
singer. She actually had a top R & B hit in the Eighty's singing
a duet with a guy named Frederick."

David's
Dad, Mom, & 3 of his sisters.
David reflects upon who it was who most inspired
his own interest in music. "I think my interest in music came
from Dad. My Dad was a piano and trombone player, and played music
all his life. He also played for Billie Holiday in the '50's a little
bit. Even in the military he played in the band. I started picking
on the guitar around age 10."
David stuck with the guitar, teaching himself
to play it. David shares, "I actually have a bass now as well
as a synthesizer that I'm learning to play. I love the guitar but
am still not as good as I would like to be but I am okay."
This reviewer thinks that David is really
pretty good! He did a great job playing his guitar on two songs
on this CD, the title song, GIVING ALL MY PRAISE and the song
YOU GET ME, where he shines as a guitarist.
Spiritual Influences:
While raised in a 2 parent home with strong
values and lots of love and discipline, a belief in Jesus was not
stressed or sought as his parents, who were raised in the Christian
Church never went to church or sent their children there.
David explains, "Growing up, I was influenced
by a lot of things. Didn't understand God. My parents were raised
in church, and because they were made to spend a lot of time there
by their parents, I believe that's why they didn't make us go."
But not to worry, for the Lord had his eyes
on the Dowlen children; giving them opportunities to learn about
Himself, guiding their steps through others in their lives, into
a belief in Jesus, which evolved into a relationship with Him, leading
them into His will for their lives; using their gifts, talents for
His purpose.
David comments, "What's funny is all
of us kids have a relationship with the Lord anyway. Someone was
praying."
The Lord had a plan to draw young David to
Himself, for the purpose of a life of service to others and to be
in a music ministry for Him. An important
spiritual faith seed sower for David was his sister, Janice, who
shared the Gospel with David.

David's sister Janice knew and loved the
Lord, who used her to not only witness to others through her singing
in church and on CD's, but to plant spiritual seeds in David, encouraging
him to believe in Jesus and serve Him.
David's Testimony......"How the Lord
drew Me to Himself"
"Growing up in my home as a child, I
had no church influence growing up. My sister Janice would have
to be my spiritual influence. She would preach to me about Jesus
and I did not want to hear it. Talk about coming full circle. Anyway,
I really believe had she not planted the seed of salvation, I would
still be lost."
"I started attending my sister’s church
in the late 80’s and started to get convicted that I needed to be
saved. The main life changing experience
that changed my world and my life was when my sister Janice died
at the age of 34. It made me realize that we are not promised tomorrow
and that I needed to get my life together spiritually. I eventually
got up the nerve to go down front and accept Jesus Christ as my
savior around age 22."
His Music....
How the Lord led David into a music ministry
for Him, Step by Step......
It is always interesting to see how a Christian
music artist was led into a music ministry. As
with many Christian artists, David began when the time was right
serving the Lord through music in church for his church family's
spiritual growth, which was a step that prepared him for the next
step.
David explains "I never really wanted
to record, just sing. As a policeman, I never had a shift that I
worked that would allow me to make rehearsals and practices to be
in the choir or on the praise team; not until about the year 2000.
Then, I was led by the Lord to use my singing gifts 3 years ago
at church. I joined our praise and worship team. I loved ushering
the people into God’s presence on Sunday mornings."
David continues, "I never realized God
was molding me to do this CD project. It's funny because if I had
never sung in front of people on the Praise Team, (six of us), I
don't think I would have the courage to do live performances. All
the while God was preparing me for such a time as this. My aunts
have told me that I look just like my father on stage, but that I
am a natural performer; something I never would have thought of
myself."
Through singing with this Praise Team David
unexpectedly found a gifted partner to work with him on his debut
CD, which he didn't even know he would be recording! Eric B. Jackson
went to the same church as David and would hear David sing every
Sunday. Eric was looking for someone to remodel his basement. So
guess what happened? The Lord used
David's construction business for His purpose, giving David a valuable
musical expertise to help him put his CD together.
David explains how this happened and why.
"This particular project was not supposed
to happen, if you ask me. The rest of this story is just a testament
of how God will use whatever vessel he chooses to get your attention
so he can use you for His glory."
"I have always kind of messed around
with writing, but never really seriously. I
went to Eric's because he wanted me to do some work for him in his
home. Once there we got on the subject of music. He began to ask
me to do a project with him. I resisted for some weeks. I really
didn't want to do it. God had other plans. I finally decided to
give in."
"Eric, the producer, I didn't know from
Adam, are now best of friends. God used him to bring this musical
idea to fruition. I am now starting to realize that this singing/songwriting
gift was waiting to get out of me. God used Eric to bring it out."
"Little did I know what was about to
happen. This project was released at the end of May and the response
was overwhelming. I had 14 to 80 year olds, all races of people
telling me how good it was and how they were touched or ministered
to in some way. I then realized that God had a plan for this CD.
So now we are in the process of getting it out there to the world.
I can only imagine what God is about to do. The thing that feels
good to me is I can honestly say that GOD DID THIS!!!!"
"So now I am just waiting for whatever
ride or journey God is about to take me on." - David Dowlen
Christianmusic.com's Interview with David
Dowlen: More about the Music found on ALL MY PRAISE CD.
The Creative Process..... The teamwork
involved on his debut Album, ALL MY PRAISE
Always curious and fascinated with the musical
creative process, ChristianMusic.com had to know how the songs were
created on this CD:
David explains how he usually composes his
songs. "As far as my music, usually I get some ideas by messing
around on the keyboards or my guitar. Sometimes I write first then
create the music. Other times I take the music and put the lyrics
to it."
David continues, "On this particular
project, Eric would create and produce the musical ideas and I would
write lyrics based on what I heard. Eric and I are a great team.
We work so well together. This CD would not be what it is if not
for Eric’s creative input."
This reviewer never realized what could be
done using a keyboard synth, software programs, and live guitar
parts played by David, creating compositions which so delicately
blend elements of contemporary Christian, Gospel, R & B, soul,
jazz, and blues for both the compositions and vocals. WOW!
David explains, "It is amazing what
we can do today with a synthesizer and excellent software programs
to enhance what you do musically. Eric Jackson is the master mind
on this. Other than a few guitar parts that I played on, Eric put
all the musical arrangements together. He is very talented."
David further explains how Eric put together
such interesting compositions. "A lot what he did for this
project was done with a keyboard/synth. The way he could change
a sound and manipulate it to make it sound as good as it does is
amazing. When it comes to musical arrangements, notes and sounds
to enhance a song, he's the master. Eric can take a basic song and
make it a new song without changing the overall structure."
This reviewer found that the composing for
the various sounds / rhythms / counter melodies and chordal support
of the keyboard synthesizer has to offer were used in refreshing,
creative ways, musically expressing the essence of the mood and
spirit of each song but not overpowering, offering solid but subtle
musical support of the fine, expressive vocals, the meaningful lyrics
enhancing the melody without taking over; which further supports
the fact that the Lord knew what he was doing when he put these
two talented men together!
The lyrics to the songs are listed below,

Jesus, Jesus, please hear me. I'm down on
bended knee, lifting you up because you're worthy. I take for granted,
the love you've shown, even though my life is, not my own. Lord
-- your love is so amazing-amazing.
Chorus 1: My life's filled with sin and there's
one thing I see - If I ask You for forgiveness, You will forgive
me Jesus, I know I'm not worthy of your love.
Because I know I should, I'll do the best
I can To carry myself like a godly man. Jesus, I don't always get
it right, but it feels good to know, I can ask your forgiveness
tonight.
Chorus 1: My life's filled with sin and there's
one thing I see, if I ask your forgiveness, you will forgive me.
Jesus, I will always praise your name.
Chorus 2: I won't take for granted the love
that you've shown even though life's not easy I'm never alone. Lord,
it breaks my heart to know that I hurt you. Forgive me.
I want to be free from sin, it's such a fight
How I desire-to get it right. Lord despite my failures you still
love me-so please forgive me.
Chorus 1 and 2

take for granted the love that you've shown, even though life is
not easy, I'm never alone.
Hook: Lord it feels good, that I can turn
to you.
* * * + + CONSEQUENCES
Fourth favorite song of this reviewer! An
inspiring mix of contemporary, soul and jazz in a ballad form, which
explores the events which caused some hard consequences. Jazzy,
soulful intro using flute, which is written in minor key begin this
song on a serious, mournful tone. Some keys, strings, guitar, touch
of sax offer delicate counter melody and chordal support to the
expressive vocals, which again show David's vocal abilities in delivery
and performance. Also enjoyed the harmonies and dynamics!

Song Lyrics
Eight o'clock and the phone rings- - my
girl is just getting in. She wants me to come over, but my minds
thinking sin. I know better but I go there, I think I'm stronger
than my sin. Two knocks and she answers then says come on in. We
know better but we go there to that point of no return. Lord I just
don't know what to say, two months later, found out a baby on the
way.
Chorus: There are consequences, for all the
things that we do. There are consequences Lord, for not obeying
you.
Called up my boy, said let's hangout. I
asked what's happening today. Didn't really like his answer, but
got dressed and went anyway. Walked in the club, I'm feeling good,
can't get no better than this. Had two drinks, next thing it's three,
Lord this just ain't like me. Three A.M. think I can drive, I don't
care how drunk I feel. Woke up to being questioned, last night,
about the family that I killed, behind the wheel.
Chorus: There are consequences, for all the
things that we do. There are consequences Lord, for not obeying
you.
* * * + + GIVING ALL MY PRAISE - Title song
Favorite song of this reviewer! Beautiful
acoustic worship anthem of praise which has nice a blend of moving
broken chordal support of guitar, synthesized keys, strings in both
melody support and lovely counter melody which together support
the poignant vocal. Harmonies in both vocals and musical accompaniment
is truly inspiring! Perfect song to bring peace to your soul and
spirit!

* * * + + I NEED YOU
Second favorite song of this reviewer. A
wonderful blend of Contemporary Gospel, rap, soul, and blues influences
and R & B. Prayer of Confession and petition hymn which is composed
in a minor key, which follows a blues chordal format, using a running
eighth note counter melody on key synth, with some guitar backup.
Also has direct chordal support of main melody carried by vocals
using underlying soft piano chords and strings. All is tied together
with catchy rhythms, nice harmonies and an infectious melody,
creating a solemn, heartfelt composition with
some pep which is the perfect musical vehicle for the lyrics and
fine expressive vocals.
David performs the Rap portion with style
and class, and with clear diction so even this rap novice reviewer
can clearly understand and enjoy it!
David comments: "This
song, I NEED YOU is one of my favorites. I am starting to realize
that it is a lot of people’s favorite. This song was inspired by
my own personal struggles with sin issues that we all have. Like
Paul said that he does the things that he does not want to, and
does not do the things that he knows that he should. This song came
out of that statement by Paul. (Lyrics) Help me to understand why
sin seems to control me, give me your strength from up above etc.…Romans
7:14-25. This song is my testimony, or one of them."
Scriptural References: (Romans 12:2 &
7:14-25, Phil, 4:6-8, 1 Cor. 1:8-9, Heb. 12:1-3, Col. 1:10-11)
Song Lyrics
Lately this sin is trying to break me, I
wanna live a life that's good-and do the things that I should. I've
been, been trying to walk away from sin, it's grip is trying to
pull in-and I'll fight it until the end.
Chorus: I need you, you to show me why sin
seems to control me, give me your strength from above Jesus, I know
how you love. No way, you'll forsake me, Jesus mold and break me,
take this sinful soul that's me and set this humble servant free.
I struggle, to live a life that's worthy.
Your word says you'll watch over me-and that's all I need to see.
Satan, he used to get the best of me (used to get the best of me)
-He'd tell me you'd never be free, then your Spirit comes and rescues
me, yes it does!
Chorus: I need you, you to show me why sin
seems to control me, give me your strength from above Jesus, I know
how you love. No way, you'll forsake me Jesus mold and break me,
take this sinful soul that's me and set this humble servant free.
Rap: Brother you need to hear what I'm sayin'
life is too short aint got no time to be playin-feels good when
you're caught up in that sin, then come tomorrow morning, you been
burned again. I spit this rap to you cause I'm trying to get you
free, huh this aint about me. I speak these truths in love about
our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, the one who gave his life. Now
let me give you some knowledge from the knowledge tree, my savior
said I want all to come unto me-(I need You) He'll help you break
away from that sin that pulls you in and be your very best friend.
I speak these words to you, cause you need to hear what I'm saying
it's really time to quit playin', so get on your knees and take
some time to pray and give him your life today.
Chorus: I need you, you to show me why sin
seems to control me, give me your strength from above Jesus, I know
how you love. No way, you'll forsake me Jesus mold and break me,
take this sinful soul that's me and set this humble servant free.
Chorus: I need you, you to show me why sin
seems to control me, give me your strength from above Jesus, I know
how you love. No way, you'll forsake me Jesus mold and break me,
take this sinful soul that's me and set this humble servant free.
* * * + I'M STILL WAITING
Another lovely R and B flavored prayer hymn
exploring the experience of waiting for the Lord to answer our prayers
in his way and at his timing. Lyrics ask for help and that the Lord
would take fear away. Interesting rhythms and harmonies add sparkle
to the main melody and keep the song moving nicely along. Vocals
are poignant, expressing the feelings of a person in need of the
Lord's help despite disobedience; see *.

4:16, Heb. 11:1, Psalm 27:14, 1 Peter 5:7, Romans 8:28)
Song Lyrics
Chorus: Jesus, Jesus, I'm still waiting, waiting
for you, to answer me. Jesus, Jesus, I don't know what, your answer
will be.
I'm waiting, on my knees, for you, to answer
me. Problems, too hard to face, on my knees is the place. He told
me lay my burdens at his throne and then I try to go it, go it alone.
Where is the answer I need to hear, Jesus, take my fear.
Chorus: Jesus, Jesus, I'm still waiting,
waiting for you, to answer me. Jesus, Jesus, I don't know what, your
answer will be. Lord I'm asking you please, I'm bent at the knees,
begging you please. Lord I'm on my knees, beggin you please, please
hear me.
* I've gone ahead, when you said to wait,
then felt the consequences of my fate. Lord forgive me, for doubting
you, Oh I know my answered prayer, will come soon.
Chorus: Jesus, Jesus, I'm still waiting, waiting
for you, to answer me. Jesus, Jesus, I don't know what, your answer
will be. I don't know what you're gonna tell me, I don't know what
your answer will be I don't know what you're gonna tell me, I don't
know what your answer will be I don't know what what.
Chorus: Jesus, Jesus, I'm still waiting, waiting
for you, to answer me. Jesus, Jesus, I don't know what, your answer
will be. Jesus, Jesus, I'm still waiting, waiting for you, to answer
me. Jesus, Jesus, I don't know what, your answer will be. (Ad-libs)
Chorus: Jesus, Jesus, I'm still waiting, waiting
for you, to answer me. Jesus, Jesus, I don't know what, your answer
will be.
* * * + + QUALITY TIME
Our modern life in our current culture has
the tendency to make us too busy, throwing a wrench into our priority
to put the Lord first! Song expresses point of view of the Lord
Jesus, waiting for us to spend time alone with Him. Yikes! A listening
experience which motivates one to spend time with the Lord.
3rd favorite song of this reviewer, which
I found rather convicting! This contemporary Gospel R & B /
soul influenced ballad, written in both minor / major keys, is carried
along with a catchy, dotted note rhythmic melody carried by the
vocals, supported by delicate counter melody / chordal support of
melody. Begins with a strong musical intro and softens down to counter
melody and support chords; Eric magic is evident here. Great use
of dynamics in both soulful, poignant vocals, and musical accompaniment.
Ends with softening dynamics to just chorus
vocals and a mournful piano accompaniment.

Song Lyrics
Woke you up, early this morning-hoping you'd
spend some time with me. Everyday, you're in a rush, child when
will you see-how much you mean to me, and that this is where you
should, wanna be- right here alone, like we used to do, Ohhh how
I miss my time with you.
Chorus: Time with you is time I treasure,
things in this life will never measure, up to the precious love
I feel for you-don't run and hide, I'm by your side. It breaks my
heart when you put things before me, I shed my blood and died for
you on calvary-so when you turn your back to me and walk away, you
miss the blessings that I had for you today.
You come home, and I'm still here waiting-for
you to tell me bout your day. You hang up your coat, turn on the
news, and you still aint noticed how I wait for you, For you to
get down on your knees and talk to me-and know I kept you from some
things you could not see. Oh, I hold you safely, in the palm of
my hands, my love for you-you will never understand.
Change.
Bridge: Some of the blessings that you miss,
oh are when you put me last on your list. (When are you gonna, When
are you gonna, spend time with me) Oh how it grieves this heart
of mine-(When are you gonna, When are you gonna, spend time with
me) for you and me not to have quality time.
Chorus: Time with you is time I treasure,
things in this life will never measure, up to the precious love
I feel for you-don't run and hide, I'm by your side. It breaks my
heart when you put things before me, (If you knew) I shed my blood(What
kind of Love) and died for you on calvary-so when you turn your
back to me and walk away, you miss the blessings that I had for
you today.
Hook: Time with you is time I treasure, things
in this life will never measure, up to the precious love I feel
for you-don't run and hide, I'm by your side. It breaks my heart
when you put things before me, I shed my blood and died for you
on calvary (How that girl loves you) -so when you turn your back
to me and walk away, you miss the blessings that I had for you today.
* * * + SHOUT PRAISES
Peppy, praise song a la hip hop with a snappy
beat, using spirited dotted note rhythm in the melody, which cooks
with spirit and energy! Funky bass part is joined with keyboards
providing syncopated melody / and rhythm support. Sure to throw
a sour mood or memory of a bad day out the window, probably energizing
the listener to join this ongoing Praise Party, and dance around
the room in thanksgiving!

Song Lyrics:
God's word says, that the rocks cry out-if
we don't praise his name. Make a joyful sound unto the Lord, and
put that old rock to shame. Come on grab a friend and bring the
Lord right in, and let him know that he's worthy, worthy-when you're
thinking through, how he's forgiven you, should make you wanna shout
his name.
Chorus: Shout praises to the one, who sent
his only son-the price he paid was free, he died for you and me.
Shout praises to the one, who sent his only son-the price he paid
was free, he died for you and me.
In this world of wicked music, that brings
no glory to his holy name. Lets stop this messin' around, shout
praises towards the sky-lift our Savior high. This world were in
so filled with sin-its just to hard to contain it. But be of good
cheer for the lamb is hereby prayer and praise he can change it.
Chorus: Shout praises to the One, who sent
his only Son-the price he paid was free, He died for you and me.
Shout praises to the One, who sent his only Son-the price He paid
was free, He died for you and me.
Change: All right we 'bout to get our praise
on up in here-we gonna let our guards down and raise our hands and
praise the Lord like we should.
2nd Change: Lift the Savior lift him up lift
the Savior up, lift the Savior lift him up lift the Savior up.
Chorus: Shout praises to the One, who sent
his only Son-the price he paid was free, he died for you and me.
Shout praises to the one, who sent his only son-the price he paid
was free, he died for you and me.
Chorus: Shout praises to the One, who sent
his only Son-the price he paid was free, He died for you and me.
Shout praises to the One, who sent his only Son-the price He paid
was free, he died for you and me.
* * * + USE ME
Another moving worship-prayer hymn which
again flows over the listener, reminding of our purpose - to bring
Glory to Jesus and to be used in a ministry that is in the Lord's
plan for us. Moving guitar in a duet with keys light strings and
light percussion start off the song, move the rhythm along and provide
lovely counter melodies to offer support for the melody & message
which is carried by expressive vocals.

Song Lyrics
I'm sitting here waiting, while my life is
fading from me I've called on you lately, hoping you might just
maybe use me, Lord. To use me to tell those lost souls that your
word is true. So fill me with truth and your wisdom to do what I
must do- use me!
Chorus: I'm the one that wants to be-used
by you-so mightily-share your truths- for all to see-live a life
of victory-I've lived my life so selfishly-thinking of no one but
me-from this day on-what I'll do-is tell this sinful world of you.
Tell them of You, Jesus!
Whatever you ask of me Jesus, I pray I will
listen, listen! So use me to give to your children - what they
have been missing. I'm ready to go forth and do that - that which
you've told me. I'll humble myself and stay broken so you can mold
me. Yeah.
Chorus: I'm the one- that wants to be-used
by you-so mightily-share your -truths for all to see-live a life-
of victory-I've lived my life so selfishly (selfishly) -thinking
of no one but me-from this day on-what I will do-is tell this sinful
world of you.
Bridge: Lord Its such an honor-to give my
whole life to you -an even greater glory to tell the world your
love is true. Lord It's such an honor-to give my whole life to you
-an even greater glory (greater glory) to tell the world your love
is true.
Hook: I want you to use Lord, to tell the
truth of your word. This is what I'm called to do, Lord I'm doing
it all for you.
Chorus: I'm the one that wants to be-used
by you-so mightily-share your truths for all to see-live a life
of victory-I've lived my life so selfishly-thinking of no one but
me-from this day on-what I will do-is tell this sinful world of
you. Repeat.
Tag: I want to tell the world, share with
the world, the truth of Your Word.
* * * + YOU GET ME
I love the lyrics of this contemporary, R&
B / urban Gospel rhythmically inspired ballad written in a minor
key. Tells the story of how faithful, patient, and merciful the Lord
was in this story, despite being ignored by the story teller! The
message is one that most people can identify with; How the Lord
watches our back, even when we don't deserve it! David again does
a great job expressing the vocals.

* * * + + Song Lyrics
Five AM, got to get on my way, done over
slept, plenty to do today. I rush to the car-when will I see, that
on the way there-you were driving me.
Chorus: You get me up and off and on my way,
should of took the time to stop and pray, pray to the one who carries
me-no matter what I do it's you I need.
I pull in my spot, Lord-aint gave two thoughts
to you. Five minutes late, don't know what to do. Boss man said
before, one more time your through, he said come here son, here's
what I'm gonna do. Give you one more chance, I don't know why I
should. Should let you go right now and son you know I could, Its
somethin' bout your walk that amazes me, that when I look at you
Jesus I see. I went to my desk and said a little prayer-although
I put you last Lord-your still right there.
Chorus: You get me up and off and on my way,
should of took the time to stop and pray, pray to the one who carries
me-no matter what I do it's you I need.
As I left work that day and started driving
home-all I could think about was, what had gone on. And how I neglected
you Lord and how you still kept me-that come tomorrow morning-you'll
be priority.
Chorus: You get me up and off and on my way,
should of took the time to stop and pray, pray to the one who carries
me-no matter what I do it's you I need.
Chorus: You get me up and off and on my way,
should of took the time to stop and pray, pray to the one who carries
me-no matter what I do it's you I need.
Chorus: You get me up and off and on my way,
should of took the time to stop and pray, pray to the one who carries
me-no matter what I do it's you I need.
+ + + * * JESUS IS THE ONE YOU NEED
A strong Ballad / Anthem to end this fine album. I would describe this
song as a contemporary rhythm and praise altar call song with a energetic
doted note beat in verses in contrast to straight eighth and quarter
note rhythm in the chorus. Chorus melody is thus easy to remember, making
its lyrics also plainly memorable to seekers and a reminder to believers
the wonderful promises we have in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Scriptural References: (John 3:16, Romans
5:8 & 10:9, Hebrew 6: 19-20)
Song Lyrics:
Chorus: This is what you got to see, Jesus
is the one you need, doesn't matter what you've done-Jesus is the
only one.
Chorus: This is what you got to see, Jesus
is the one you need, doesn't matter what you've done-Jesus is the
only one.
Lookin' in your eyes-you need to realize,
just what you mean to me-and how you need to see. That what you're
going through, is only killin' you-you need to understand, that
He's the one who can.
Can make it go away that pain you feel today,
I gotta make you see, that he's the one you need-you need in your
life, it's what you gotta do-cause what he did for me, he'll do
the same for you .
Chorus: This is what you got to see, Jesus
is the one you need, doesn't matter what you've done-Jesus is the
only one. This is what you got to see, Jesus is the one you need,
doesn't matter what you've done-Jesus is the only one.
Bridge: Sent his only son cause he loved
us, all you gotta do is just trust-trust him in the word that he's
given, that's when you really start livin.
I was just like you (like you), living from
sin to sin-until a friend told me, (told me) you can start again.
So I got on my knees and I began to pray, and then I heard his voice-ever
so gently say, I gave my life for you-way back on calvary, and now
it's time for you-you to be set free.
Chorus: This is what you got to see, Jesus
is the one you need, doesn't matter what you've done-Jesus is the
only one. This is what you got to see, Jesus is the one you need,
doesn't matter what you've done-Jesus is the only one.
(David's verbal Invitation + Chorus modulates
up a key)
Sung in the background.....(Jesus is the One, doesn't matter what you've
done, Jesus is the One, doesn't matter what you've done, Jesus is the
One, doesn't matter what you've done, Jesus is the One, doesn't matter
what you've done......)
